Pennia's POV

Sighing, I rest my elbows on my knees and hold my pounding head. Too many thoughts were running through my head.

"Where is my spear," I say through clenched teeth.

"We lost it when we were running away." A male says quietly.

I rock myself back and forth, the pounding intensifying every second. I was furious that I had lost my prized possession.

"Penn, are you sure you're okay?" I hear someone say, the ache in my head unabling me to register the voice.

I nod once, resuming my rocking. My mouth wouldn't formulate words, only a quiet whimper left my lips.

"I think she has a concussion," another voice says, sitting in the empty space next to me.

"If we don't get her treatment then we are done for." Issac, who is the only one I can recognize, whispers.

"Oh holy Capitol," someone says, chuckling.

"Chase, cut the shit." Issac says, rubbing his hand up and down my back.

"As I was saying, oh holy Capitol. My dear friend is in need of your assistance. Please, we are begging you, send down something to cure her head problem." Chase says, raising his hands to the trees above.

A low laugh leaves someone frome behind me, which causes me to flinch.

"It's Bentley, you're safe P."

I slowly open my eyes, looking around me. It's dark, I hear crickets chirping. The breeze is warm but regardless, my body is wrapped in coats due to the constant shivers ripping through my body.

Suddenly, the Capitol anthem rings throughout the arena. I look up at the sky, seeing the words 'No fallen tributes' appear above us.

"Slow games, not good." Bray says, sitting in one of the branches close to the ground.

"They'll send in mutts or a hurricane, something to stir things up." I whisper, rubbing my temples.

"Get some sleep?" Chase says, kicking his feet against the ground.

"She can't sleep until her head stops hurting," Prim says, smiling sadly at me. "Concussion 101."

I nod, leaning my head on Issac's shoulder, taking deep breaths to calm the hammering in my skull.

The others chatter is interrupted by a soft beeping noise.

Everyone, including myself, leap from our spots, frantically looking around for the sponsor gift.

"Over there!" Bentley says, taking off to his right with Prim following after him.

They return a minute later with a syringe. I feel my eyes widening, taking a step back.

"Hell no," I stammer, bumping into Issac's chest.

Issac's hands clamp down on my arms, holding me in place as Prim slowly walks towards me.

"This won't hurt too bad P, quick pinch then your head should start feeling better. Okay?" She says, turning my arm over.

"Penn, look at me." I hear Bentley say, turning my chin to face him.

As I'm looking at his face, I feel a slight pressure on my arm and then a pinch.

I look back at Prim, watching her push the purple fluid into my veins, instantly feeling the ache vanishing.

"Was there a note?" I ask Prim quietly.

She nods, handing me a small slip of paper from her jacket pocket. I take it from her, flattening it before reading it's contents.
