Chapter 15

Aubrey's POV

"What are you talking about?" he asked smugly

I narrowed my eyes at him knowing he was enjoying this too much. Although I didn't exactly tell him why I wanted to meet with him I knew he'd have a clue as to what I wanted from him.

"You know I'm talking about the investigation." I said threw clenched teeth

"What your boyfriend didn't tell you?" he snorted before raising his glass up to his mouth

I watched as he swished the brown liquid in the cup before actually taking a big gulp and wincing at the stupid choice. My lips twitched upwards when he coughed a couple of times, ha that's what he gets!

"I'm done with these games of yours so either tell me what I want to know or I'm leaving." I stated in a matter of fact tone

Holden turned his mouth to the side pondering what I just said realizing I was in a no joking mood. I'm sick of all the lies and these stupid mind games that seem to surround the people I'm must close to.

"What exactly do I get for spilling the so called beans?" he finally spoke raising a suggestive brow

"Nothing." I answered honestly

"Nothing?" he repeated his cocky attitude gone as he stared at me in disbelief

Leaning further into my chair I nodded and offered him a cocky smirk of my own. No way am I falling into his evil clutches. Holden waved his hand and tall built man walked up to the table with a wine glass, he poured the clear liquid and retook his position back in the line behind Holden where three other men stood like statues. No expressions and virtually the same buzz cut and built figure all wearing dark clothing.

Suppressing a shiver at the men who resembled hit men I use to see on America's most wanted. The last thing I want is to show Holden any emotion.

"They are just for back up and don't worry they won't speak a word about our little arrangement." he said noticing my gaze on the men

"This is nothing but two people having a small meeting one of which hates the other so don't read too much into this." I said in a dark tone

"Whatever you say Honey." he winked and motioned to my drink

Raising the glass up to my mouth I took a tiny sip not quite trusting the sleaze bag at all.

"So are you going to tell me or not?" I repeated not wanting to waste any time

"Hmm.... okay but I'm curious to know why of all people you came to me?"

Ignoring his question I pulled at a loose thread on the table, no way in hell am I about to admit how no one else would tell me. Pulling my gaze up I met his cocky stare refusing to give him the satisfaction of knowing that he's my only hope s of right now.

Holden nodded and readjusted himself in his seat "Alright I guess I should began three months ago when the first set of killings began. No one thought much of it because we had a few rogue wolves passing by but when the murders continued to happen more frequently the elder pack members demanded I solve the so called problem."

"So I gathered the best of my men to track down the killer when we stumbled on him feeding.." Holden paused as a look of disgust crossed his handsome features
