----Solina POV----
In an instant, Ace and Adrian were on their feet fully prepared to embrace their lost uncle. Nile followed suit and jumped to his feet to meet them halfway around the table.
They laughed as they wrapped their arms around each other and I felt a smile stretch across my face.
"What are you doing here?" Ace asked as they pulled away from each other.
"How long have you been here?" Adrian laughed, pulling at Nile's tunic and robes.
"It's good to see you too, come sit and meet with someone and I'll explain everything." He extended his arm towards the table and asked for them to sit.
Soon, the foods were served and we indulged as they conversed.
"Yasmin." Silas called her over to the tableside.
"Yes, your majesty?" She replied.
"Have some winged pig blood brought over for the lady Tatia please." He requested.
"Right away, sir." She smiled and turned to leave the courtyard.
"Thank you, Silas." Nile spoke, bowing his head in respect.
"You speak the language too?" Ace questioned suddenly.
"I do." Nile replied in English.
"So you have been here long." Adrian spoke.
"It's been...quite some time. Especially in your world, but we can speak about that soon. Boys, I want you to meet my mate. Tatia."
All three of the Licans looked between the both of them, twice.
"But she's..." Ace gestured to Tatia with his fork.
"A vampire, yes." Nile answered.
Ace nearly choked on his food.
"How is that possible?" Adrian questioned.
"Around here, fate doesn't give a damn about incompatability. It's always a fight against instinct so we don't harm each other and during the longest moons around here I have to be away from her. We can never have children and she is immortal, but our fates are written in the stars. Never to be parted from one another, just as the moons are never without each other." He answered.
"How can your mate be from a different dimension? Are you also from here?" Ace asked.
"No, and I'm really not sure how it's possible. Ares spoke to me-"
He was interrupted by Adrian, "Ares knows about this?"
"Yes, and he spoke to me about how one day someone from your world would need my help. More than once, maybe. I assume that he meant Solina. So I've been here ever since, learning the land as best as I could while also waiting for her arrival." He continued.
"He knew this would happen, does this mean there's more to the gods plans than this? None of this makes any sense." Ace spoke before taking another drink of wine.
"None of what any of the gods do makes any sense, there's no point in trying to understand their motives any longer. At least, not while you're here." Nile chuckled.
Adrian sighed, shaking his head before taking a large gulp of his wine.
"So we just accept this and move on?" Bryce spoke for the first time since the meal started.
