I drove to the airport as fast as I can. Few minutes earlier, Ardyne texted me and said: 'We just landed. Honey, we need to talk.'
It's fucking cryptic! We've been dating for almost a year and a half now. Did I do something wrong? Nag-away pa kami bago ang flight niya papuntang Japan. Kasalanan ko nga naman 'yun. I used the wrong detergent when I washed her Honeybear. Yup, she still has that stuffed toy. Naging lighter lang naman ang kulay ni Honeybear. But she still got mad. She's been moody a lot, to be honest.
We still work at the same company but no longer together in a team. She went back to her regular flights and I'm still one of the company's market manager. Noong una ay hindi ganoon kaganda ang tanggap sa akin ng ibang members. They thought I got the job because I'm the son of the shareholders and that I got nothing to offer for the company. They may be right for the first one but for the latter? They can kiss my ass.
I'm totally back. Of course, because I have my Ardyne...the love of my life... Who just sent me a fucking cryptic text message!
Namataan ko si Ardyne at ang iba pang mga flight attendants na palabas ng boarding area. Kausap nanaman niya si Dennis. Hanggang ngayon, umaasa parin 'yung gagong 'yun na magbe-break kami ni Ardyne.
Oh shit, I'm seriously thinking about the worst right now!
"Hey," bati ko kay Ardyne at Dennis na sabay sumalubong sa akin.
"What's up?" baling ni Dennis sa akin. Tumango lang ako. I want to wipe that smug look on his face.
"Bye, Dennis. See you around!" nakangiting sabi ni Ardyne sa kasama na paalis na. Nang mapunta sa akin ang atensyon niya ay sumeryoso agad ang kanyang mukha. Something is really wrong here.
Kinuha ko ang luggage niya. Nagsimula na kaming maglakad papunta sa parking lot. Tahimik lang siya at parang may malalim na iniisip.
"Gusto mo bang kumain sa labas? I thought you'll land around five," simula ko ulit ng usapan habang nagmamaneho na ako.
"Gusto ko nang umuwi," sabi niya lang. Sa labas lang ng bintana nakatuon ang atensyon niya sa buong biyahe.
Nang marating kami sa flat niya, or namin I should say, dumiretso siya sa CR. Natagalan siya doon kaunti. Fuck, what's happening?
"Hey," tawag ko sakanya nang makalabas siya. She looked tired.
"Hmm?"
"Is there...something wrong?"
Nagtitigan kami hanggang sa bigla siyang umiyak. Lumapit agad ako para yakapin siya.
"Tell me, please..." I asked.
"Hon... I think I...." She sobbed and sobbed. Nahihirapan tuloy siyang magsalita. O na 'di ko na maintindihan ang sinasabi niya.

"We are pregnant..." Ito lang ang paulit-ulit na sinasabi ko.
"I'm seriously scared. This is my third PT. Positive talaga siya, hon."
Binitawan ko siya at iginiya para maupo sa sofa. I held her close to me. "I am too, honey. But we have each other. We'll go to a doctor first thing tomorrow. Okay?" I kissed her forehead.
Doon ko lang naalala ang singsing na binili ko last week. Gusto ko sanang mag-propose sa birthday ni Ardyne. Kasama sana ang buong barkada at ang mga magulang namin pero mukhang mapapaaga pa pala.
I sat up, went to our room and got the ring. Kinuha ko rin ang video recorder at ipinatong ito sa TV.
These will be two of the best moments of our lives together.
"Anong ginagawa mo?" tanong niya sa akin habang gumagalaw ako sa kabuon ng flat.
"One moment."
Inilabas ko ang phone ko at ipinatugtog ang I Do Not Love You ni Ron Pope. May fresh flowers sa vase. Kinuha ko rin ito. I can't stop smiling.
"Ardyne, honey," I knelt. Binuksan ko ang maliit na kahon na hawak ko. Nanlaki ang mga mata niya at napatutop sa kanyang bibig. "I want to love you forever. Every time I wake up, I always smile because I am so lucky to have you. You complete me, you are my everything— the love of my life." Napahinto ako.
I can't help it. Umiiyak na kaming pareho.
"Through the smiles, tears and hardship we had to go through, we still ended up here. I just..really love you so much. So, honey...will you marry me?" I continued.
Yumuko siya at ginamit ang sleeve ng cardigan niya para punasan ang luha ko.
"This is cheating. Why do you have a ring right now? Oo, Yeoji Dale Co. Take my hand, take my heart. It's yours forever."
Tumutulo ang luha namin habang inilalagay ko ang singsing sa darili niya.
"I love you," bulong niya sa akin. I started to kiss her and in between, I said I love her too. With all my life.
We called our friends through Skype video call. They're all too happy that they decided to come and visit first thing tomorrow.
"Bakit may singsing kang nakahanda?" tanong niya habang nakahiga kaming dalawa. I pulled her closer to me.
"Dahil may balak na talaga akong mag-propose."
"When?"
"Your birthday?"
"How?"
"Are we really doing this?" pahiyang sagot ko.
"Oo na po, tama na. Mahal na mahal kita." She hugged me tightly. "Pero naala mo ba noong senior high tayo? You were such a badass then. What happened?" She still went on and teased me.
"I don't care. I have you, so tease me all you want. Give me everything you have!"
I tickled her sides and we just kept on laughing. I can't believe I almost lost her before. I am truly thankful to have her.
She was there to hold me up when I almost lost my mind. She gave my life a new meaning and purpose. She's the love of my life.
