Chapter 19

~Jazz's POV~

I was laying in what I figured was a hospital bed, and my hands and feet were freezing. I still couldn't see so I felt around for the covers. I got out of the bed and bumped into what I figured was an IV pole. I felt for the bed again and sat down to rub my head, and just as I did that I heard the door oped and close.

"Hello Mrs. Jazz my name is Dr. Pelini, I am an eye specialist, and as of right now you are temporarily blind. This means that your other 5 senses are heightened, and that you will not be able to see for the rest of your life." He said as I lay back onto the bed.

I couldn't do anything, but sit there in shock and listen to whatever he had to say. He was a very nice man, and he seemed pretty decent so I trusted his word.

"Now, there is a surgery, and you are able to choose whether or not you will have it. When you hit whatever you did it damaged your central nerve, and your eyes blacked out, normally that wouldn't have happened. Normally a person would've been paralyzed but you were lucky in this situation." He said giving me a brief explanation of the surgery afterwards.

"What are the chances of me surviving it?" I asked unsure of where I was looking.

"You will survive although none of this has ever been done before, and there is the chance of you becoming paralyzed but that is highly unlikely." He said as he filled out the worksheet.

"We've pulled up your medical file, and it occurs to me that you have been as healthy as a horse, with a few bumps and scrapes along the way." He said as he flipped through the papers.

"We suggest you take some Advil at least twice a day to get rid of the pain in the back of your head, and that you have someone watch and help you since you are temporarily blind." He said as I stared at the wall.

"Okay, when can I go home?" I asked confused a little.

"You may go home today, but the police department wants to stop by and ask a few questions as to what happened, do you think you may be up to that?" He asked as he put his hand on my forearm.

"Yes sir. Um, do you mind if I feel your face? I'm having trouble trying to figure out what you look like." I asked, nervous that he'd say no.

"Sure go ahead." He said as he lifted my arm up to his face.

I just smiled and felt around as he told me the color of everything that I touched. I closed my eyes hard and tried to imagine everything that I felt. He had a grey beard that ended at his chin, a pair if thin framed glasses, he was bald at the top, but he had a little hair around the bottom.

I thought that he maybe looked like an old fashioned Santa Clause from a pop corn box or something. I thought he was really sweet for an old eye doctor. Things would be weird for a few days, but I figured that I could get used to whatever life threw at me, I was my father's daughter.

--------------

I woke up the next day, but it still felt like I was sleeping because I couldn't see anything. I wasn't in a hospital bed anymore, and I wasn't in the hospital gown either. I instantly wondered who'd seen me naked, and I desperately hooked that it wasn't Harry.

I knew that I wasn't at my house because my bedroom floors were carpet instead of hard wood. I instantly grew panicked when I thought of being somewhere I didn't know well. I stopped myself from that to avoid another attack, and decided that I'd try and feel around for some orange juice.

After all, I knew Harry would take care of me. He beat the shit out of Chris for me, so I knew he'd keep me safe and under his watchful eye. I began to wonder where Clara, Jade and the guys were, I haven't seen either of them in a while, that was the whole reason for going to dinner or whatever it was, the other night. Shit happens I guess.
