The idea for this sub-genre popped into my noggin whilst I was out driving to Tesco the other day, and could also be referred to as TribePunk.

Basically, the idea behind it is that rather than a civilisation developing/utilising future technology (StonePunk, CandlePunk, etc) instead we're talking about a smaller, more insulated group within said civilisation.

Imagine if an ancient tribe residing in the heart of the Amazon or one of the warring clans of Scotland had been in possession of more advanced technology than their counterparts. How would that have altered things back then, and how would it alter the reality in which we currently reside?
