Game

After we ate our lunch, he excused himself to the comfort room. Magpapalit na raw siya into their team jersey. Habang naghihintay sa kanya, tumitingin lang ako ng tweets sa feed ko. I found out that my schoolmates are apparently gushing about the upcoming game.

Grabe pati professors hindi pinalampas ng mga schoolmates ko. But hey, look who's talking? Says the one na asawa ay professor at may crush din sa pinsan niyang professor din. How come my life is suddenly entangled with academic people?

Bumukas ang pinto at tumambad sa akin ang isang RR in black and golden yellow jersey. He was wearing a basketball headband, too. Damn, he suddenly doesn't look like an intellectual right now.

"How's my outfit?" he inquired. He bent his body downwards to fix his shoelaces.

"Okay naman," untag ko. Gwapo mo talaga!

"I want your cheer for me to be the loudest one later," he smirked.

"Para ano? Para sabihin nilang crush kita?"

"Ano naman kung sabihin nilang may gusto ka sa'kin? Isn't it true?"

"Excuse me, Mr. Rodrick Allen W. Ryan! Ang kapal ah!" bulalas ko sa kanya.

"So don't you like me in the slightest bit?" he fixed his gaze at me.

I stared back and gulped. Why would he ask me a question like this out of nowhere?

"RR kasi -" nalilito ako.

"Never mind, I guess now is not the perfect time to answer my question." Okay, sabi mo eh. "Anong oras na pala?"

I checked the clock on my phone. "4:15 na."

"My teammates will warm up at 4:30. See you later sa covered court." a.k.a. he is signalling me to get out of his office. Sa bagay, it will raise suspicion among his colleagues bakit kasama ko pa rin siya hanggang ngayon.

"Good luck, RR," sabi ko habang kinukuha ang bag ko sa upuan. "Come closer to me," utos ko sa kanya.

He obeyed my order. When he was close enough, I tiptoed and gave him a peck on his left cheek.

Nanlaki ang mga mata niya.

I chuckled. "That's your lucky charm." I winked and went out of his office.

Nagkita kami ni Sharpay sa entrance ng covered court. I was overwhelmed with the crowd. I am not overreacting, halos buong college yata ang manonood sa laban. Ni hindi nga ito intercollegiate game.

"Sabi ko sa'yo marami talagang pupunta eh!" ani Sharpay. "Dali! Baka maubusan tayo ng seats malapit sa bench nina Sir Rick!" hinatak niya na rin ako papasok ng covered court.

Buti na lang may mga upuan sa itaas lang ng team bench area nina RR. Nakaupo lang din malapit sa amin ang iba naming blockmates. And that also means, tanaw na tanaw ko si Genera sa kinauupuan ko lalo na at tatlong upuan lang ang pagitan namin.

I saw she rolled her eyes at me when our gaze met. Wow! The audacity? Ganda ka 'te?

"The btch is here," mariin kong bulong sa bestfriend ko.

"Alam mo namang malaking sipsip 'yan sa asawa mo. Of course, she wouldn't miss this event," sagot ni Sharpay. "Kung hindi lang dahil sa'yo, matagal ko nang isinigaw sa mukha niyang may asawa na si Sir, at ikaw 'yun."
