JESS’ POV

“There’s something you have to know about your knight and shining armor boyfriend… or should I say… GAYFRIEND?” Kung di ko pa sabihin, hindi nila ako lilingunin. That’s their fault. Kung nilingon nila ako una palang, hindi na sana sila aabot sa ganitong kahihiyan.

-----Flashback-----

Pumunta ako sa unit nya to surprise him for it’s our monthsary but he’s out. I’ve got a spare key, so nakapasok ako. I tried to call him pero  narealize kong naiwan pala nya yung phone nya when I heard it ringed. It’s in his room.

Tsk, tsk, tsk…

Si James talaga… hilig mag-iwan ng phone.

 But I happened to thank this bad habit of his before. Dahil dito kaya ko nagawang paghiwalayin sila ni Sophie.

I took the phone, sat on the bed. 8 messages, 2 missed calls.

At sino naman kaya ‘to?! Naka-5messages at 1 missed call lang ako sa kanya kaya sino ‘tong iba?

Tinignan ko. Si Rhiann pala. 1 missed call and 2 SMS from her. What the?? Kelan pa sila naging close ni Rhiann??? Don’t tell me, after Sophie, me, then si Rhiann naman?! I know Rhiann’s kina flirt, and so is James but I know Rhiann’s not his type.

SMS#1:

Geez… U suck! Dn’t tel me u’r afraid 2 Jess?? Come on… meet w/ Sophie & we’ll both live a happy lyf!

SMS#2:

I know blockd k s phone nya so I txtd her using othr #. Meet dw kau. U set wer & wen.

The hell???! Ano ‘to??? Is she setting James up on Sophie??? 

I dialed her number.

*after a few rings* ‘Hello? O, ano na’ng plan mo?’

“Bwisit ka Rhiann! Ano ‘to ha?! May pinaplano ba kayo ni James na hindi ko alam??!”

She didn’t answer.

“Hoy Rhiann! Sumagot ka—

Kaya pala ayaw sumagot, binaba na yung phone. The hell! Binabaan ako???

A moment later, James’ home. Nagulat syang makita ako sa kwarto nya, hawak ang phone nya, namumula sa galit.

“Je-jess…”

“Hi, sweetheart…” bati na nakangiti pero alam nyang hindi ako natutuwa sa pagkakataong ‘to.

“A-ano ginagawa mo rito? Di ka manlang nagpasabing pupunta ka?”

“Hmm…” tumayo ako at lumapit sa kanya. “I just want to surprise you sana… Remember, today’s our monthsary? Pero ako yata ang na-surprise. Mukhang meron ka yatang hindi sinasabi sa’kin, James?? Tell me. Ano yung usapan nyo ni Rhiann?”

“Jess—

“Tell me!!!”

“Okay! May usapan kami ni Rhiann na paghiwalayin si Sophie at yung pesteng boyfriend nya para mapunta yun sa kanya at sa’kin naman si Sophie! There. Now you know. Happy???”
