Ryan smiled at me again. His smile, despite his cold grip on me, warmed my heart.
I was still pretty dumbfounded that Reese played us like fools. But who cares.
"Well, I'm gonna go to bed,-" I began.
"No, don't be like that." Ryan said.
"Huh?" I asked.
"Don't be that person who runs off after something awkward happens!" Ryan said.
I giggled and I pulled away from him, tucking away a strand of hair that fell onto my face.
"Please, be careful around your little friend over there."
Ryan said.I nodded.
"I have a feeling that this vacation won't be too good. I know what I have to do." I said, nodding.
Ryan winked at me.
"Bye Fern." He said.
I smiled and waved to him as I left the attic.
I walked through the hall of boxes and I quietly tip-toed down the stairs.
I spotted Reese in the kitchen as I reached the landing.
"Ferrrrn." He groaned.
I looked at him. He was shuffling through our fridge.
"If you think that it's okay to fucking play a prank like that on me and Ryan, that's wrong!" I screamed.
Reese stopped doing what he was doing and he looked at me in shock.
"Fern..." He began.
I held my hand up and he silenced himself.
"You owe us an apology." I snapped.
Then, I stomped away to the bedroom and I slammed the door behind me.
Ha. I won this round.
