Chapter Eleven - Furious
"GO SHARKS!"
The cheerleading team cooed while singing 'go' and saying 'sharks' extra loud.
The score was 23-6. Us, meaning the Sharks, winning and them, meaning the Seagulls, losing. I feel bad for them, their defense is bad and their throwing skills aren't very great either. The only thing I admire about them is the speed they can run up to. Though, it doesn't help much since they can't get their hands on the football in the first place.
Noah's the quarterback, and damn he's good! He also looks great too in those tight white pants and ocean blue jersey. I slap the side of my head. I'm angry at him, but I can't stop perving over him! How stupid am I?! But I am SO not letting him off the hook that easily this time. He can't just play with me while goofing off with other girls at the same time. I'm not a boy toy.
I shake my head to clear my thoughts and look up just in time to see the winning touchdown being made. Rose and I jump up, along with countless others, and scream until our lungs can't take it anymore.
We turn to each other and high-five and lock our hands and do the 'man hug' while screaming 'sharks' at the same time. Some people around us look at us like we're crazy while others admire our school spirit.
We walk down the bleachers and I save myself from nearly tripping a couple of times. We walk to Alex's car because he had volunteered to take us home and then to the after party. Well, take Rose to the after party at least since it was at Noah's, and why drive when you can just walk right next door?
I was leaning on the front of the car when Noah and Alex came out. Rose ran over to Alex and hugged him. When she pulled back she beamed, "You guys were great out there!" She leaned in and pecked him lightly on the lips. From Alex's facial expression, I could tell he wanted more than just a peck.
"Yeah, you were great, Alex!" I said smiling wide and pointedly ignoring Noah.
"What about me?" Noah pouted adorably, but I wasn't falling for any of that today.
"Yeah, sure. Whatever." I said, crossing my arms and looking away while feeling like such a b*tch. I knew very clearly that I was being one, but he'd been an assh*le for messing with me like that.
Noah had a confused look on his face but before he could say anything, Alex spoke, "I think we should get going now." I had a feeling he could sense the mood.
Alex, Rose, and I got into Alex's car. Noah walked over to my side and opened the door.
"Don't you want to ride with me?" He asked.
"No." I said firmly before shutting the door in his face, not too hard, though, since it wasn't my car. He had moved away just in time, avoiding the door from greeting his confused face.
Alex started driving away but I looked back at Noah to see held a bewildered expression on his face. I turned around and looked forward.
I honestly don't like being mean to him. I sighed; maybe it's just my inability to hold a grudge against anyone. But my anger was overruling my desire to just forget and forgive, so there won't be any of that anytime soon.
"We're here." Alex told me, stopping in front of my house.
I smiled gratefully at Alex and Rose, "Thanks."
"Your welcome." He answered.
I got out of the back seat and made my way inside my house.
I trudged up the stairs and sat down on my bed. I looked out the window, seeing an orange sunset with dashes of red and purple. It extended into a beautiful dark blue sky. The exact same shade as Noah's eyes. I shook my head and kept looking out, and saw the ocean turning dark along with the sky and glimmering from the few escaped sun rays. The scene took my breath away. The beauty of it was magnificent. And within a few seconds, the ocean engulfed the sun and more of the sky turned dark blue, but there were still orange streaks to be seen.
I heard a few cars and looked down to see the first people show up at Noah's house. I got up and closed the blinds.
I got out a pair of my ripped, bluish white jeans and a floral print top. The shirt had a V-neck and had spaghetti straps and a thin band right under my breasts. I put my clothes on.
I walked over to my full-length mirror and stared at myself. My dark brown hair curled to the middle of my back and my forest green eyes looked weary. The jeans brought out the curve of my hips while my shirt hid it. It still looked nice.
Should I go? Before, I was mainly going for a fun time, but without talking to Noah, I highly doubted I'd have fun. A vibrating sound came from my bed and I looked to see that it was my phone. I picked it up and saw that Rose had texted me.
