Lorenzo and I exchanged a couple glances before realizing that just a moment ago, we murdered Carla. I crouched down at the side of the spiritless body. I killed someone.I felt tears forming in my eyes and my lips curved to a permanent frown. Lorenzo came to my side and crouched down beside me. He snuck an arm onto my shoulder, pulling me close to him and closing the space between us. He scanned her lifeless body. Lorenzo didn't dare to drop a tear from his eyes.

"What are we going to do about this?!" I asked with pain in my voice. I never have killed someone in my life until this exact moment.

"Well we're definitely not telling Vinnie about this." Lorenzo said ruffling his strong hand through his brunette hair. I looked at him with disappointment and despise.

"What?" Lorenzo asked like he didn't know. He stood up, then grabbed my hands to help me up.

"Did you even care about Carla?" I asked provoked. "And tell me the truth goddammit!"

Lorenzo sighed. "Yes, I cared about Carla, a lot. That was until you came along. You're like a goddess, but I knew for a fact I couldn't have you." he confessed.

"Oh." I said quickly. We sat there in silence. I fiddled around with my fingers awkwardly.

Breaking the silence I stated, "We're going to tell Vinnie."

I saw pain flash across his face. Lorenzo pushed me against the wall his hands tightly gripping mine. "We are not going to say a god damn word to Vinnie!" He yelled.

"We are telling Vinnie!" I screamed back.

Lorenzo then slapped my face. I couldn't help but cry. My tears stung my cheeks hurting me even more. I thought Lorenzo was better than this, but this is what happens when you expect too much out of someone. I looked down at the ground for a minute, then back at Lorenzo. A tear seemed to form in his eye.

I quickly freed myself out of his grasp and dashed across the room and left outside. I slammed the door behind me, only to hear it open again.

Lorenzo yelled, "Come back Maria!". I ignored him and ran to my car, struggling to open the door. Lorenzo caught up with his fast pace. He wrapped his arms around my waist. "Maria, please, I never meant to hurt you!" He yelled.

I finally got the door open. I slid in and quickly shut it before he could try and get in. I just needed to leave right now. I needed to get away from everybody.

I didn't know where I was driving to yet, but I had a feeling deep in my heart that I needed to be far away for a while. It then hit my mind where I wanted to go. Las Vegas. A place I've only dreamed of going. Now I was going to make that dream come true. It was about a seven hour drive from Carson City, but it was worth it. I turned on the radio to make the hours pass by sooner.

It was only 6:00 PM and I was in the city of Tonopah. I only had three more hours of driving left by then. I pulled up to a gas station. The gas was $3.19 a gallon, which isn't too bad like at the other gas pumps. I went inside the little store they usually have at the gas stations to grab a quick snack and beverage. In the store, there was a man who was really short with a mullet running the cash register, and there was also a young woman with a little girl in her arms.

"Mommy, can I get this candy bar?" The little girl asked her mom, pointing at a chocolate bar.

"No honey, mommy can't afford it." They young woman said frowning. She looked not much older than me. I couldn't help but feel bad. The daughter word a little pink dress and the mother wore a sloppy looking purple top. They looked like they were on the poorer side of society.

"But mommy, I'm hungry!" The little girl complained.

"I know Rachel, I am too." She said tears forming in her sky blue eyes. I developed tears in my eyes too at this sight. I walked over to the two. I found a fifty dollar bill in my purse. It's for a good cause, what goes around comes around I thought to myself.

I tapped on the lady's shoulder. She slowly turned around facing me with red eyes. I extended my hand with the fifty dollar bill in it. She smiled at me. She carefully took it with her shaky hands. The lady then gave me a tight hug.

"Thank you. God bless your soul." She said crying tears of joy. I felt really happy helping out this young woman. I saw the woman and her daughter go up to the register and purchase the candy bar. The little girl released herself from her mother's grasp and came up to me.

"Thanks miss!" She said happily giving me a hug.

I smiled at the little girl. "I'm glad to help." I said still smiling. As the young woman left with her daughter, the man at the cashier said "Wow, I never seen anything like that before. You're such a sweet young lady, you can pick out any beverage and snack you would like. No cost." He said with a grin. What goes around comes around.

I picked out a huge bottle of water and a bag of chips for the trip. The cashier rung me up, and then I resumed my journey to Las Vegas.
