Aurora POV

After hours, Erix and my brother finally stopped bickering before looking at us. It was time for Percy and Azra to leave before they began to raise suspicion. My heart began to throb as they both got near me to bid me farewell.

I knew it wouldn't be my only time seeing them, but not being around them hurt me the most. Time was of the essence here, but how long would it be before I set foot at the palace again? Azra's expression was extremely grim as he held on to me. Obviously, he didn't want to let me go, but we both knew he had no choice.

"I don't want to leave you, but I have no choice... I have to make sure that the King and Queen don't suspect where you are," he said quietly, avoiding my gaze.

He felt guilty for everything that happened, but I could never blame him—not him. He was also a kid, and I knew he had done his best to protect me. Percy placed his hand on my shoulder and slightly squeezed it before letting go. He was about to walk out the door when he looked at me again.

"Ashley will be visiting soon. She'll be here to teach you how to wield your sword," He said before he walked out the door, giving the rest a slight nod of farewell. My brother turned right back to Erix before warning him about not hurting me. Erix rolled his eyes and patted my brother on his back before pushing him out the door. All you heard was my brother shouting that he would kill him if he hurt me as Caz closed the curtains on him.

"Your brother sure is protective of you," he said while closing the rest of his curtains. The living room was no longer chaotic but became more calm while Elva went to the kitchen to do whatever she planned. I wasn't sure what to do since I'd never been in the underworld. It's not a place that I ever imagined having to set foot in.

I sat down on a lavender couch while finally taking the time to analyze the room around me. Purple curtains, lavender couches, and amethyst chandeliers before looking at Caz. The man sure does love purple; I mean, his eyes and hair are purple. What else does he have in his color? His fucking toilet?

"Princess, I want you to know something," Erix said as he plopped right down next to me, bringing me closer to him. My face flushed red while Caz leaned against the wall, acting like a guard.

"What?" I said quietly, avoiding his gaze.

I didn't want him to see my flushed face even after our moment in the cave- A moment of weakness. I can't deny that I enjoyed it more than I anticipated, but I did mean it when I said I would marry him. He grumbled as I refused to look at him before he got annoyed and pinned me down on the couch.

Caz's eyes widen at what his lord had done before turning to run towards the kitchen. He wasn't going to let Elva witness what her brother was doing. They would immediately tell us to get a room.

Erix placed his knees between my legs while he had my hands over my head. He wanted me to look at him, but I kept my eyes closed. I didn't care how flushed my face was; if I looked at him, I wouldn't be able to contain myself. I felt his lips against my ear before he began to whisper.

"Open your eyes, sweetheart"

I bit my lip to stop smiling but still refused to open my eyes for him. He didn't enjoy my defiance, so he began to nudge his knee against my lips, causing me to whimper.

"Open," he scrawled

I looked at him, and he smiled and kissed my forehead. He kept calling me a good girl before kissing my lips. His soft lips against mine made me want more, but I contained myself. After he pulled away, he still held me down.

"What did you need to say?" I asked while controlling my racing heart. Why did he have to make my heart race? Why did it have to make me want him more? It's only been 2 months, but I can feel myself slowly falling for him, no matter how much I didn't want to.

"I will never let anyone hurt you... I will burn this entire world down for you... I will kill any man that looks at you in a certain way... I will kill anyone who tries to take you away from me. Aurora Solace, I don't care if it's been only 2 months, but I can't control myself around you."

Hearing him say that was breathtaking. I never knew that someone with his background could love or be interested in someone. He's a Mafia lord, and I am a Princess. Will it work out between us?

"Will it work?" was all I managed to say before looking away. He pressed his body towards mine before whispering in my ear again.

"I will make sure of it, but I wouldn't doubt it, considering you come from pure prophecy."

I shifted my head towards him, confused about what he was saying. What was the prophecy that I always read in books? A vampire so strong and rare who had the power to unlock the red string when they found the one?

"I think you're putting me on a high pedestal, Mr. Wixx."

He laughed before sliding his arms around my waist and flipping me around. I was now on top of him, with my lower area touching his while he smirked wickedly.

"No, Princess. Let's get you ready for dinner" he said as he sat up. He slowly shoves his face on my neck.

"I'd burn the entire world for you"
