After not attending four times, Maverine and Marla had a comeback in May of 1979. Terry Labonte and Harry Gant picks the girls up to go to the race, and the girls got the pass. Terry said he's married to Kim in 1978, and Harry is already married as well.
The twins Lynn and Gwynn were already there, and the other girls visited them. Maverine crushes Ronnie Thomas, last year's rookie. Maverine and Marla saw Buddy Arrington running well, and places 3rd as Bobby Allison won the race. Buddy's other best finish was in Nashville in 1965.
