Somewhere in the North Atlantic

???? hours

Current Conditions: Stormy

The scene opens to the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean. The wind blew past the camera loudly as the choppy, North Atlantic waves battered the USS Yorktown, a Ticonderoga Class Cruiser that had been guarding the Denmark Strait. She had been dragged out of mothballs to help fight the Sirens and was a frequent sight to the Commanders and Kansen who graduated from Azur High and stationed themselves up at Norfolk, Virginia. The Yorktown was next in line to become a Kansen and this was to be her last mission prior to that.

Yorktown Bridge Officer 1: "Captain on deck!" he called.

Yorktown's CO: "As you were." he said, walking over to his chair, "How's the Patrol gone?"

Yorktown's XO: "Routine as ever sir, North Atlantic's giving us a small goodbye in the form of a storm though." he replied.

Yorktown's CO: "I can see that." he chuckled, making his way to the inter-ship comms, "CIC, Bridge, anything to note?"

Yorktown's TAO: "None at all sir." she replied, "Few tankers and a freighter are running through at the moment so all seems in order."

Yorktown's CO: "Very good, but keep a sharp eye out, we don't know what those Ruskies have planned for us." he warned.

Yorktown's TAO: "Wilco." she nodded, hanging up.

The CO turned back to his chair and sat down, patting the walls of his ship's bridge, his eyes filled with Nostalgia, Yorktown was his first Command and he had loved her like another wife.........much to his actual wife's disdain, though as much as he'd miss the Yorktown he couldn't help but feel excited, he'd been told just before leaving that when he came back to the States, he'd be reassigned to the USS Maine, one of the newly launched Montana-Class Battleships. Maine was the furthest along, he was scheduled to take command of her for her fitting out phase and the shock tests. A call suddenly brought him out of his stupor.

Yorktown's XO: "Sir! CIC reports Unknown ship just popped up on AEGIS, bearing 3-3-0!" he called.

Yorktown's CO: "Can we get an ID on it?" he asked, grabbing a pair of binoculars and attempting to see through the storm.

Yorktown Bridge Officer 5: "Negative Sir, whatever it is doesn't have its transponder on." he replied, looking at a civilian RADAR system.

Yorktown's Helmsman: "Should we investigate sir?" he asked.

Yorktown's CO: "Hm..." he hummed, "Whatever this thing is it's in Russian Territory, if it gets too close to us and doesn't turn back then we can do something, for now, maintain course."

Yorktown's Helmsman: "Yes sir." he saluted, keeping the Yorktown on its course.

A few minutes passed and nothing of note happened, Yorktown's relief ship, the USS John Paul Jones was on approach and was ready to relieve the Ticonderoga-Class Cruiser when an alarm suddenly rang in the Yorktown's CIC Room.

Yorktown's TAO: "Sir, missile incoming! AEGIS is identifying a squad of SS-N-19's!" she reported.

Yorktown's XO: "Shit, where'd they come from?" he demanded.

Yorktown's TAO: "It's coming from the unknown blip on RADAR." she replied.

Yorktown's CO: "Fire off interceptors! Ready Counterattack!" he ordered.
