'Hey look, it's Sleepy Vin!'
'What a loser.'
'She can't even hit a target!'
I was feeling better as I went out to dinner, only to be jeered at by Stacey's cronies. Seriously! How many friends does this girl have, let alone magical friends? And like that person could shoot a target either.
Anyways, they were all being horrible, duh.
'Dumb vampire!'
OK, how is that even an insult? I got my dinner (Tomato Soup with chicken, sour cream and a bagel on the side) and was about to sit with Audrey and Dillon, when Stacey smirked and tripped me up. I fell and my food spilled everywhere. Of course everyone laughed at me (EVEN AUDREY AND DILLON, like, what?), thinking I was just clumsy and fell other nothing. I mean, you would laugh too, a dorky emo girl with soup and chicken all over her and no teacher to reprimand you. Luckily the soup wasn't boiling hot, so I wasn't hurt. Suddenly I heard a voice from the of one of the tables. 'Leave her alone!' Said Annalise, helping me up and giving me a paper towel. I wiped my face and hair before putting the towel in the bin. 'Thanks Anna.' I said, as we went outside to sit by the fountain. 'It's nothing. They were being really mean to you. And they're so loud.' She said, shaking her head. 'You want some?' She asked, breaking off a piece of bread and filling her spare pale pink flask with soup. 'Thanks. Wait, you have a spare flask of all things?' I laughed, sipping. 'Yeah, just in case I lose my other one.' She sighed, running her fingers through the water in the fountain. 'Y'Know, you're my only friend, how are you so...popular? To be honest, I find it easier to make friends with the shy girls, but you probably secretly judge everything I do, don't you?' I sighed sympathetically. 'Never. You're my friend Annalise, and I love your style, there are only so many people who have your level of confidence. I bet your parents are proud.' Annalise bit her lip before shaking her head solemnly. 'Not really. They don't know this side of me. They flipped when they saw my dyed hair. They're so overprotective, I was homeschooled until I started Atasharri high.' She went pink and whispered. 'And I have a crush.' I gasped, my eyes shining. 'Oh my gosh, who?' I shrieked. She blushed harder. 'Do you know Ramona Hart? That's the girl I like. I'm pansexual.'
'I'm so happy for you!'
'Thanks!' She threw her arms around me. I didn't need Audrey and Dillon, who laughed at my suffering, I had my new friend, Annalise Wickett.
