~~* Sierra's POV *~~

Sierra did not lift her head from Luke's chest even after hearing his words. Sierra lowered her arms and wrapped them around Luke's waist. Luke had his arms around her and was breathing calmly. The two stood in silence for a long time until Sierra thought out loud.

"How will this work out? Even if we manage to hide it until my internship ends. What about your grandfather?"

Luke lifted Sierra's face by the chin and pecked her nose.

"I do not care about what anyone thinks besides you. If we can find happiness together, that is enough for me."

Sierra frowned slightly and rested her chin on Luke's chest as she looked at him. Sierra gazed into his warm brown eyes that were looking back at her. She lifted her right hand and gently cupped his cheek. Sierra trailed her thumb down on his jaw. Luke imitated her frown and touched his forehead with hers. Their breaths mingled as they stood there, eyes closed. Sierra felt his lips touch hers again. This time, she was prepared and reacted as soon as it began. She held his waist again, kissed Luke, and sensed him respond passionately. He slowed until he pulled back and nousled his nose with hers.

"We should take it slow. You have a head injury."

Sierra groaned and tiptoed to give Luke a quick kiss and nestled into the crook of his neck. She heard his chest rumble with laughter as he pulled her closer to him. Standing there in his embrace, she felt complete. How could a stranger feel this much like home?

"Are you the same person who kept claiming they do not have feelings for me?"

"I had my reasons for saying that. But you can be persuasive."

"So you do have feelings for me then?"

"I might."

Luke chuckled at her reply.

"Should I try persuading you any further?"

"I don't mind."

Luke kissed her head.

"I don't mind either. But if we stay alone any longer, Ms. White will get suspicious."

"Yeah, I have to go to the hospital and get my bandage changed. I might need to set up a few sessions with a therapist as well."

"It might help with the episodes."

"You must think I am Coocoo."

Luke pulled back and looked Sierra in the eyes.

"Never. I am sure there must be a reason behind it. Your mother mentioned about your father."

Sierra felt like a bucket of cold water was splashed on her face. She recovered quickly and asked him what else her mother had said about their family.

"Nothing much. Just that your father passed away due to a cardiac arrest when you were young."

"She did not mention Sophia?"

"No."

Sierra sighed and hit her face in his chest again.

"I do not like talking about it."

"You don't have to if you don't want to."

"I want to tell you but- I will take you to her someday."

"Okay. I will go with you. I have so much to tell you about myself."

"I know you are a closet feminist and a Jane Austen fan."

"Yes, I like to read literature classics."
