To call the men by money held
Inside the place my father worked
To try to cause that lawman's hurt.
And framed those men my father then
Of crime then deemed a gravest sin.
And all the city hunted long
For man though man had done no wrong.
And father fled that day at late
To bridge then call the golden gate
His former friends and present foes
On either side of bridge enclose.
And Carmen stood their barring way
With Sheira held against her sway
And arm she ripped from grasp to run
To try and spare my father guns.
On either side their foes then stand
The mob and lawman joining hands
To harm this pair they both do deem
A threat they all do claim as king
Of crime. No way to change their plight
Nor any friend to aid their flight.
Then joining hands they make a break
And lover's leap from golden gate..."
