In princess heart there love then grew
That rest of realm did not behoove
For emp'ror heard the Grecian heir
Beyond her mortal kin was fair

And sought her hand the only one
Effront enough to deem he's won
The right to wed the fairest dame
That eastern rome those days did claim

But Aurostousa such refused
Though man the right of throne abused
And princess knew it's prudent tact
To always walk the pliant act

When faced with men whose power exceeds
Restraint their gave when doing deeds
But though her qualms advised refrain
Can mind forbid what heart ordains?

A hopeless choice the heiress's gave
To lose her love or gain the grave
So war then came to eastern rome
With heirs of Greece against their throne.

And many machine inward poured
That Byzantine did use for chore
The trebuchet that only men
From eastern rome at time did send

Or ever craft then went to fight
To aid the work of all their knights
And Grecian flames they both were gave
That Hebrew man from Syria made

Who's Callinicus name preserved
Through song and tales that men have heard
And also grenades men did use
When other side they did abuse

And slings on staffs they also plied
When each with other man did via.
And war beyond it's time did hold
The horrors modern men may know.

And Erotokitos went on steed
In armor dressed as king did heed
To battle long against their foes
Who many sorrows did bestow.

And lo as warring grew at length
And each on other flexed their strength
So Heracles who ruled then Greece,
And daughter kept from those who peace

Had stripped away by dint of hand
Because she would not give to band
Of marriage to the lord that deigns
That woman vows of love would feign,

Then comes to harm beneath the flames
Opposing side had brought to tame
The Grecian forces gone to fend
Their homes from fellow Roman men.

And none the courage owned to brave
The fiery foe that'd grant them grave
But Erotokitos riding steed
Who fear for self did dare not heed.

A grisly wound then did endure
No mortal craft at time could cure
To save his king from ranks of foe
Though thing would grant him many woe.

Heracles is not the Heracles from Greek myth I presume that this Heracles had to be named after him or something. But this story is strictly in the medieval era.
