As the day moved on, our group had yet another assignment, this time in our chemistry class. It was a pleasant surprise when I found out that Seung-Gi and I were once again grouped together, and we couldn't help but share a laugh about how often that seemed to happen.

Our group dynamics shifted as we welcomed Gong Hyo-Jin into our trio. She seemed a bit reserved at first, and I couldn't help but notice that she looked somewhat uncomfortable. I decided to break the ice and make her feel more at ease.

"Hey, Gong Hyo-Jin," I said with a warm smile, "don't worry. Seung-Gi and I often end up as groupmates, so you're in good company."

Seung-Gi chuckled, adding, "That's right. We make a great team."

Gong Hyo-Jin's expression relaxed, and she returned our smiles. "Thank you," she replied. "I appreciate your understanding. I'm looking forward to working together."

We then delved into discussing our upcoming experiment, assigning roles and tasks. I could sense that Gong Hyo-Jin had valuable insights to offer, and I encouraged her to share her thoughts freely.

"Hyo-Jin, feel free to open up to us," I said, hoping to put her at ease. "We're going to be groupmates for the rest of the semester, so let's work together and make this experiment a success."

As we continued our discussion, the initial awkwardness melted away, and I was pleased to see our group becoming more cohesive. We were ready to tackle the challenges of our chemistry experiment as a united team, and I couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to work with such supportive and cooperative classmates.

Author's POV

In the chemistry group, Hyo-Joo, Seung-Gi, and Gong Hyo-Jin worked together harmoniously, tackling their experiments with dedication and enthusiasm. Their collaboration was efficient, and they were making significant progress in their coursework.

However, in their STS project group, things took a different turn. Hyo-Joo and Seung-Gi found themselves the only members genuinely committed to the project. Jung Woo-Sung, their third group member, seemed disinterested and uninvolved. During group discussions, he was consistently absent, not responding to messages, and his lack of engagement was becoming increasingly evident.

Seung-Gi, as the group leader, felt the responsibility to address the issue. He approached Woo-Sung politely, trying to understand the reasons for his disengagement. However, instead of

Seung-Gi (SG): Hey Woo-Sung, we really need your input for the project. Can you join our discussion tonight?

Woo-Sung (WS): [No response]

Seung-Gi (SG): Woo-Sung, this project is important. We can't do it without your contribution.

Woo-Sung (WS): [Still no response]

Seung-Gi (SG): Seriously, Woo-Sung, we're all in this together. Don't just ignore us.

Woo-Sung (WS): Why don't you do it all by yourself then if you're so smart?

Seung-Gi (SG): That's not fair, Woo-Sung. We're a team, and we need to work together. What's the problem?

Woo-Sung (WS): Problem? Maybe I just don't want to waste my time on this stupid project.

Seung-Gi (SG): It's not stupid! It's part of our grade, and we agreed to do it together. You can't just bail on us like this.

Woo-Sung (WS): Watch me. I've got better things to do.
