Priya POV:

I was making Sameer's breakfast of idiyappam and stew on a bright and early Saturday morning. His smile brightened my day, and the kids enjoyed it as well. Ammi ji was assisting with the dishes as well because she noticed that I had changed into a much more mature young woman. "Priya Mole, innathe ravalithe bhakshanathil ninne engane sahaayichuvennu njaan abhinandikkunnu. Ni sevikkumbol baakki njaan nokki kollaam(I appreciate how you helped with breakfast today. I'll take care of the rest while you go serve.)" As I brought the plates to the table, I nodded. " Good morning Priyu. Idiyappam, he bhagavan. Yah dish swaadisht hai. Aapake haath jadoo hai(Idiyappam, my goodness. This dish is tasty. Your hands are magic!)" As the children grinned, I laughed. "Main vaastav mein jaanana chaahata tha ki kya hum apane parivaar ke sadasyon se mil sakate hain. Hum parivaar ke saath kuch gunavattaapoorn samay ka aanand le sakate hain aur Mama aapase akele mein milane ke liue utsuk hain. America se Anurag bhaiya ke aane ke baad Anjana didi ke bachcho ke saath alag se sone se bachchon ko adhik laabh hoga. Kya yah theek hai(I actually wanted to know if we could visit my family members. We can enjoy some quality time with the family and Mama has been longing to meet you alone. The children would benefit more from a separate sleepover with Anjana didi's kids after the arrival of Anurag bhaiya from America. Is it alright?) " "Baba, ningalkku ithu kurachu varshangalkku munbu ennodu parayanam aayirunnu(you could have told me this several years ago)," Sameer said with a broad grin. "Njanum avare kaanan kothiyayi. Kuttikalum ammayeyum achaneyum nokku(I've been eager to meet them as well. Please look after the kids, Mom and Dad.)" As we departed to pack the bags, they nodded. "Ve kaisi hai, Priyu? Main khaasataur par sabhi ladkiya se milana chaahata hoon.(What are they like, Priyu? I especially want to meet all the ladies.)" "Kya tumhe yaad nahi ki tum pahale hi shaadi ke bandhan mein bandh chuke ho(Don't you remember that you have already tied the knot)", I sarcastically answered as I shoved him. "Ya tumane mujhase pyaar karana band kar diya hai(Or you've stopped loving me-)" Sameer cupped my cheeks with his hands. "Kya aap kabhi is tarah ke shabdon ka jikr nahi karate. Duniya mein aur bhi khoobsurat ladkiyaan ho sakati hain, lekin mera dil keval tumhaare paas hai(Don't you ever mention these kinds of words. There may be more beautiful girls in the world, but only you have my heart.)" He stroked my hair as I gave him a strong hug. "Hame kaam par jaana hoga(We need to get to work.)" We assisted one another in organizing everything because I was eager to meet Mama and Papa. We departed our home late at night and joined the train to Mumbai. As Sameer gazed at me, I admired the splendor of the night. "Kya tumhe yakeen hai ki raat mein yah itana sundar nahi hai(Are you sure it's not so lovely at night?)" "Raat khoobsoorat ho sakati hai lekin aap sabase khoobsurat nazaara hai(The night may be beautiful but you are the most gorgeous vision)", he said after nodding. I flushed, but I afterward thought it felt odd. "Bachcho ke bina akelapan mahasoos hota hai. Main unake liye tarasata hoon(Without the kids, it feels lonely. I long for them.)" I leaned my head on his shoulder and he smiled. We arrived at the bus stop for Dharavi after an extended delay. Because there were kids playing cricket and commotion all around, it was quite different from Sameer's lovely home.
