Little story from the past

The first spell Eldi got back, at 70, had been Mudball, one of his most useless spells in the game. The only reason why he had it at 10 was because of its low consumption and ease of leveling up. He could throw it at his companions when there was nothing better to do.

In 71, there was Avalanche, a powerful spell that can cause an avalanche or snow slide. Its main problem is its high mana consumption, and the conditions to use it, which makes it extremely difficult to level. However, if many enemies can be hit, it can be leveled up quite a bit in one go. Therefore, when he tested it before leaving, it was raised up to 5 thanks to dozens of smashed ants.

At 70, he had re-gained Seesaw. It is a curious hammer skill with some earth magic. The hammer hits the ground so that a few meters away the earth propels whoever is there up. He had barely used it, so it was at 3.

Finally, at 71, there was a skill considered absurd because of how little credible it was. Helicopter consists of rapidly moving the axe as if it were a propeller, in order to rise. The main problems are that it is slow to start, and its high energy consumption. He had barely used it other than to test, so he had only raised it to 2.

For her part, at 70, Goldmi had recovered Reprisal. It consists of returning a projectile to its origin, thus being able to hit the person who fired it. It was very situational, so it wasn't easy to level it up. She had it at 4.

Windball wasn't a very useful spell for her, due to the low range and better alternatives. In the game, it was believed that the designers were too lazy to come up with new spells for all classes. She barely had it at 2.

In terms of skills, Sharpen makes the arrows more lethal. The energy consumption allows it to be used only occasionally, despite which she had raised it to 9. Combined with Piercing Arrow, it can turn a simple arrow into a deadly projectile. It can also be used on sword and dagger.

At 71, there was Harden. It is very useful when the arrows can't withstand the impact, especially combined with Accelerate, Piercing Arrow or Sharpen, among others. It was at 10.

The lynx had regained Chew, which empowered her bites. Her winged sister now had Projectile, thus being able to throw herself at once.

This time it was the five of them alone. Gjaki, Eldi, Goldmi and her two sisters. The goshawk complained that she couldn't help much, while the lynx made fun of her. Their objective was to enter one of the anthills.

There, the enemies were more powerful, and the count had asked Gjaki to annihilate at least one of them if she could. That way, he hoped they could get the ants under control, just like it had been years ago.

Because of this danger, they went alone, since it was easier for them to escape if there was something unforeseen. The capacity of the Gates was limited, and some time was needed to cross them.

After exiting the Gate, Gjaki approached Eldi, and looked at him accusingly.

"Can I know what you told Chorni the first time you went to the mansion? You didn't tell him anything about the City of Light, did you?" she asked, although she already knew the answer.

"This... I didn't know it was a secret..." Eldi looked the other way.

"Ha, ha. It was hilarious! I still remember the face you made! Although it's funny... I didn't see your face back then..." Goldmi intervened.

"Don't ever do something like that again! Don't tell him something so embarrassing again!" she protested to Eldi, as if she were a little girl, and while ignoring the archer.

"That seems fine to me. After all, Gjaki has never told my husband, my sisters-in-law, Maldoa or my daughters anything shameful about me," the elf broke into the conversation again.

Her tone was clearly ironic, especially emphasizing the "never" and "about me". There was certainly reproach in her words. After all, the vampiress had never held back from recounting her most embarrassing incidents in the game. Now that her friend was in her position, she wasn't going to let her get away so easily.

"This... I think the anthill is over there. Could your sister check it out?" Gjaki changed the subject, and looked the other way. She only needed to whistle.

"Mmmph! She's already going..." the elf answered, somewhat annoyed.

"Ha, ha, ha," the high human couldn't contain himself.

"Don't laugh!" his two companions demanded at the same time.

They looked at each other, and the three began to laugh. In the end, Gjaki ended up apologizing. She had just found it out by chance, and she had slightly overreacted. The truth was that it had happened a long time ago. Now that she remembered it calmly, it was even funny.

Back then, the three of them had to do some missions in the City of Light. Gjaki had been preparing for several days, creating costumes, clothing with special protections, or inventing excuses for her possible attitude or outfit. It was evident that in a place called the City of Light, a vampiress wouldn't be welcome.

She had even had her companions prepare dialogues or artifacts to help her with the more than likely purifying magic. Eldi had had to create several jewels with protection, while Goldmi had cooked some meals with attributes that strengthened the vampiress.

They needed to be there for a while doing missions, and she was the only vampire player who had gone. At least, there was no mention on the game's forums.

She had finally gotten in without being discovered, without even being suspected. They hadn't gone more than a few meters when Gjaki had turned.

"It can't be but... That guard.... He had an aura similar to a vampire..." she had been surprised.

"Er... Gjaki... That kid who's just fell, isn't he a vampire?" Goldmi had pointed out.

"His friend isn't. But that woman over there is. Her fangs are visible when she talks. What about that...? and..."

In the end, it had turned out that, as much as the name of the city suggested otherwise, the city was full of vampires. They were a third of the population.

For some time, their three characters were standing still. In their respective rooms, Eldi and Goldmi were unable to move the mouse or approach the keyboard due to fits of laughter.

As for Gjaki, she had been extremely frustrated and ashamed. Nonetheless, that was the past. The three laughed heartily at those memories. It had been just an innocent blunder.
