"What are we going to do?" A man screamed as I came to my senses.

"I don't fucking know!" Another screamed. I looked at a man in holed-up jeans, a red button-up and sneakers. He wore a hunter's hat and had a 12 gauge shotgun in his arms, and he seemed angry. I looked around at the others in the room; pounding came from the outside of the hotel room we were locked in.

"Hey!" The man with the shotgun said, looking at me. "You almost got us killed, you bastard!" He slapped me and made me look up at him. His eyes glared down at me.

"I-I'm sorry..." I croaked. I looked over at five chairs with bodies that had their heads covered with bags. The man hit me again, sending sickening pain down my neck.

"Look at me when I am talking to you!" He screamed, grabbing my throat. The other man put his hand on the man's shoulder.

"Daryl... Calm down..." He said, pushing his glasses up with his other hand. The man loosened his grip on my neck, allowing me room to breathe.

"Did... You... Did you find the man in the... Elevator?" I said, coughing at the dryness of my throat.

"Hell yeah, we did. He killed three of those Cannibals with his fists! He willingly was taken captive after we had our rifles pointed at him." The man chuckled. This enraged me.

"Where is he?..." I struggled.

"Oh, he's right there," the man said, pointing to a man who was saturated with blood, the bag over his head wrapped tightly around him. I yanked on the rope that bound my hands and strained to stand up.

"For god's sake, I hope he turns away until I'm done with you!" I screamed. He punched me in the nose, and I fell back in my chair.

"Shut up!" He said. He walked over to the side of the bed and took a swig of whiskey.

"Sir. We need to get to the rest of the group." The other man said. Daryl slammed the bottle down, causing me to jump. He walked over to me and dragged my chair to the door.

"We're gonna play a game; I'll unlock the door; if they get it open before you can get out, then you lose." He said, dropping a knife on the ground in front of me.

"Stop it, Daryl!" The other man said.

"Ohh, shut up!" Daryl said, unlocking the door. He backed away and sat down on the bed, watching me. Instantly the door knob started to jiggle. My heart beat quicker as the fear oozed its way into my head. I tried to slide my foot under the small Swiss Army knife, but it slid farther away. Daryl laughed at my failure as the doorknob continued to jiggle. I put my foot on the blade and slid it under my chair. The door opened, slamming into the back of my chair. An arm grabbed my shoulder, and I screamed.

"Daryl! You are bloody drunk!" The man said, pulling his Colt—45 from his belt. I tried to force the door back, but they were too strong. Then, I got an idea, and I slipped my shoes off. I stretched my feet under the chair and slid the knife back out quickly. I fiddled with it to get a grasp on it until I was sure I could pick it up. The door slammed my chair multiple times before I got the knife into my mouth. Thanks to all the stretching I used to do in Tai-Kwan-Do. I dropped the knife behind me and into my hand. The arm grabbed at my shoulder, tearing my sweatshirt. I started cutting the rope vigorously. Once I heard the snap, I stood up and slammed the door on the walker's arm. Growling and grumbling could be heard from outside. I hit the door hard, and there was a crack, and the door closed, dropping a bloody arm into the room. I shut the metal door and locked it, turning towards Daryl. He smiled and held up his fist.

"Want a drink?" He asked, leaning on the bed and grabbing the bottle. I sprinted up to him, nailing him in the face. He dropped the bottle on the ground as the clear liquid absorbed into the carpet. "You bitch!" He punched me in the gut as I struggled on top of him. I punched him in the nose, and he rolled me off the bed and onto the floor. The other man backed away, still holding his gun up. Daryl was on top of me as he choked me hard. I stabbed him in the side, and he crouched down with a scream. I kicked the rest of his body off and then kicked him in the face, gasping for air. He was unconscious.
