Boruto and Sarada were in such a shock that at first they opened and closed their mouths like gold fishes.
Then, together:
"MITSUKI!?"
"Hello you two." Mitsuki greeted them casually while tilting his head with his eyes closed. He wore his personal fake smile.
This made Sarada gulp.
"H-How long have you been standing there?" Boruto asked.
"Long enough to hear absolutely everything." Mitsuki said. "And honestly I'm dissappointed in you Boruto. You can do so much better."
"Huh?" Boruto raised a questionable look as he tilted his head; not understanding.
But Sarada seemed to and she grew red in the face: "Ex...Excuse me!?"
Mitsuki was not intimidated by this.
Boruto then pouted at this, and said: "Mitsuki, can you at least not sneak up on us like that?"
"Yeah, it's called privacy." Sarada folded her arms with a frown.
Mitsuki opened up his eyes at this, and something in his eyes were off.
Anger?
"Why?" He asked then. "You got something to hide?"
The other two then went quiet at that.
Mitsuki waited for them.
Nothing.
"Fine then." And with his fake smile still on, Mitsuki turned and walked away...
...The birthday party was soon over and the Uzumaki's and Mitsuki went home.
