Rejection.

Takemichi sat at lunch with Mitsuya and Draken, feeling nothing but rejection. He had spent four hours total trying to get Y/n to talk to him, standing outside of her apartment not even knowing if the girl was home or not.

He was awfully quiet, and both of the twin dragons picked up on it almost immediately. Draken picked up a roll from his lunch and tossed it at Takemichi hitting him right on his forehead.

"Draken the f-"

"What is wrong with you? You haven't said a word in the past twenty minutes, which is completely fucking weird," Draken knitted his eyebrows together. Mitsuya leaned his chin in his hand as he stared at Takemichi.

"I-I went to go talk to Y/n yesterday and-"

"You actually grew a pair? Nice," Mitsuya chuckled as he continued to eat his lunch. Scoffing Takemichi rolled his eyes as he set down his chopsticks.

"Yeah yeah whatever. Anyway, she didn't even bother to talk to me! Didn't even yell at me to go away!"

"I mean, it's justified. You were a complete dickhead to her. Maybe you should take it slow anyway, you just moved in with us after living with Hina for so long you're newly single. Just take a breath," Mitsuya attempted to give Takemichi advice. As much as Takemichi understood, he still felt like he needed to get things off of his chest.

As if on cue, Y/n walked into the cafe looking around. Her gaze landed on Takemichi who had just been spaced out staring at her.

"Not today," she mumbled to herself before continuing to search around the cafe. Her eyes widened, and smile grew as she laid her eyes on a particular someone. Takemichi grew confused, as he watched her run up to someone. He couldn't tell who it was since their back was facing him, and a hoodie was pulled up over their head. But Takemichi's heart dropped as he watched a now older Sanzu picking Y/n up off her feet and hugging her tightly.

His jaw nearly dropped as he saw how happy she was with him. But how?

The truth was, they couldn't have been more opposite. Haruchiyo had no care in the world for many things and many people, he was rash, he was dangerous and he wasn't necessarily a good person. Y/n had one of the kindest hearts Takemichi had ever met.

He watched awkwardly as the two continued to talk, and smile at one another as they sat and ate their lunch.

"Oh. Yeah I guess Mikey forgot to mention that."

"Mention what?"

The three boys jolted not realizing Mikey had sat themselves at the table, munching on his obnoxiously large lunch.

"Dude you scared the fuck out of me."

"Good. Now what did I forget to mention?"

"Them two," Draken nudged his head in Y/n and Haru's direction. Mikey raised an eyebrow, before looking back at the group.

"I didn't mention it cause there's nothing worth mentioning?"

"I'm utterly confused," Mitsuya groaned packing his lunch up.

"Y/n and Sanzu aren't dating. They're literally friends," Mikey shrugged as he watched the two of their interaction.

"Friends? How?"

"You guys are dumb as fuck. They're both teaching assistants for that dumb honors chemistry course."

"Nothing more?" Takemichi asked. He grew nervous, now fearing that Y/n possibly already moved on from him. Mikey looked over in Takemichi's direction, before sighing and setting his dorayaki down.

"Ok truth is he likes her. But, I made sure he knew not to do anything stupid. She also knows not to fall for him. Ok? Why don't you actually go talk to her?"

Takemichi facepalmed. Was it really that simple? He looked back in her direction, seeing Sanzu get up from the table and grab his things.

"I'll be back," Takemichi told his friends as he got up from the table. As Sanzu walked away, Takemichi began to approach the table the girl had now occupied alone.

Clearing his throat, he tapped her shoulder in an attempt to get her attention. Without turning around, she continued to eat her lunch.

"How can I help you Takemichi?"

"C-Can we talk?"

"What is there for us to talk about?"

"I'm sorry," he got straight to the point before taking the seat besides her. She looked up from her lunch, eyes widened at the words he had just muttered loud enough for her to hear.

"Huh?"

"I said I was sorry. Look, I didn't mean to hurt you and... truthfully I didn't mean what I said. I think you're special. You mean a lot to me and I.. I want to spend more time with you."

"And your girlfriend?"

"We're not together. I needed to figure out my feelings and she needed space to do her own thing."

"So I'm your second choice?"

"No! Not at all! I was wrong. I know that now. Please Y/n just.... Give me a chance to make up for what I said," he reached over grabbing her hand in his.

Takemichi wasn't assertive whatsoever. But for a strong willed girl like L/n Y/n? He didn't have much of a choice. She deserved someone who was confident in themselves, who was straightforward with her and could appreciate her for who she is.

She was slightly taken aback. She was use to the fidgety and nervous Takemichi, the one that stuttered and jumbled his words or was super clumsy. Everything about this interaction was unlike him. She had no idea what to say or do. All she thought of, was to intertwine their fingers and give his hand a firm squeeze.

"Sure. But, I'm telling you this now Takemichi. What you said? It's fucked up. You're fucked up for that. You gotta fix this shit on your own, and it's not gonna be easy. Ok?"

"Ok," he nodded and let out a breath of relief. She scoffed before giving him a slight smile.

The three former Toman members sat at their table, jaws dropped at the fact that Takemichi had actually been the one to crack her hard exterior. It was definitely a shocker to see how simple it was for him to even talk to her after knowing how badly he had fucked up.

"Did he actually-"

"Yeah. Crybaby actually did got Y/n to talk to him," Mitsuya said stunned. Mikey chuckled to himself as he finished his huge pile of food.

"Yeah well. He's in for it. If there's one thing I know about that girl, she can hold a fucking grudge. If he thinks he has it easy, he's deadass wrong."
