Either Me or Him

Chapter 13

After yesterday's episode at rehearsal, Kelly began to wonder what might really be going on between her and Beyoncé. Yesterday was not the first time that they had found themselves in an awkward situation. Several times since Mama Tina's birthday, she and Bey have seen each other almost kissing and besides, she is finding Beyoncé's attitudes a little different since she saw her with Jessica at her mother's party, however, she chose to ignore it and go on with her life because she thought it was her heart playing tricks on her once again. However, yesterday was out of the ordinary for her and, honestly, she saw something different in Beyoncé's eyes. But from the moment they stepped out of the elevator, they acted once again like nothing happened, except that Kelly is suspicious of Bey's real intentions and Beyoncé is tired of holding back this urge to kiss Kelly and tell her how she really feels about her.

Today is their concert at the AT&T Stadium and so they are in a mad rush to get some final things settled so that they can get to the stadium.
On the way to the AT&T Kelly got a call from Jessica and they talked for a while. Jessica was complaining to Kelly, saying that she had been gone since the day they kissed and Kelly felt bad about it, but she didn't mean it. Everything was so busy and she barely had time to breathe, but she knew that deep down she needed some time to digest all of this and figure out what she really wanted with Jessica and she came to the conclusion that keeping their friendship together would be better for both of them, since she can't see Jessica as anything more than a friend.

While Kelly was apologizing and explaining everything to Jessica, Bey was listening to music in the back of the van when she noticed that Kelly looked a little sad while talking on the phone, so she paused the music she was listening to and started paying attention to what Kelly was saying, and then she realized that the conversation she was having was with Jessica. Bey was paying attention to everything Kelly was saying and then she heard something that somehow pleased her very much.

"- Jessica, I apologize to you, however, I can't be anything but a friend. I am very grateful for everything you have done for me since then, but I have tried and failed to see you with eyes other than those of friendship. I swear I wanted to, but I couldn't. Forgive me! But I beg you, don't be angry with me or stop being my friend. Our friendship is very important to me! Kelendria said.

After hearing this, a smile appeared on Beyoncé's face and she was happy, not for the sadness Jessica should be feeling at the moment, but for the opportunity she can have for Kelly to be closer to her without anyone to get in her way, wanting to vie for kelendria's attention with her. After this, Bey didn't even bother to continue listening to the rest of the conversation, she simply got lost in the whirlwind of thoughts that occupied her mind and the next thing she knew time had passed and they arrived at the stadium.

Michelle got out of the van, soon after Bey and last came Kelendria with a slightly downcast look on her face and this caught Chelle's attention and as they were being escorted into the venue, Michelle thought it best to ask, as she didn't like seeing her friend like that.

"- Hey, Kells. What's up? You look kind of sad, and you weren't like this before."

Kelly took a deep breath in total frustration and decided to come clean with her friend.

"- I had a rather stressful conversation with Jessica and she is now upset with me and ended up asking me to give her some space until she was well enough to talk to me again."

Michelle wondered what that conversation was about, while Bey was already sure what it was about, although she played dumb the whole time.

"- I imagine you said something that went against her feelings, didn't you?"
