A/N - Hello my loves!!! so this was originally supposed to be the last chapter, but since i ended up making a few scenes longer than planned I just split it into two (much like Bethany in the beginning of the fic/hj) Hope y'all enjoy!!

Title for this chapter is based on the song "Unspoken Words" by Mxmtoon for a vv specific reason :]

Nostalgic (by ARIZONA)

"Okay, fine maybe I'm just a little nostalgic. 'Cause the memories are flooding my mind, baby I can't stop it . . ."

"What about this?" Owen asked, pulling the third dress-shirt he owned out of his closet. He held it up to his body, whirling around to face Kara, who sat cross-legged on his bedroom floor.

"Looks fancy! Like every other shirt you've shown me."

"But this ones different, Kara. It has green stripes."

"Ooh! Then I vote stripes." Then, Kara squinted at it. "Wait, is that the same one you wore on our date last week?"

"Which one? In the 1980s or 1960s?"

From downstairs, the distant noise of Bark Vader barking reached Owen's ears, making the kids both pause. The barking stopped after a moment, though, so Kara jumped back into their conversation.

"Whichever one we ate breakfast at. I keep mixing them both up."

"Oh, yeah! That was the 1960s." He found himself smiling at the memory. "And I did wear it. Um, but not with a cape, obviously."

Owen's eyes fell to the light blue cape folded up on his bed — his very own cape! — which Kiel had gotten for him for the occasion. The occasion, meaning Owen's morning trip to Quanterium, which Kara was helping him get ready for. Or more accurately, she was watching him sort through clothes that had an air of professionalism, because today was the day he'd be taking up Charm's offer. When she'd presented Owen with the opportunity of a lifetime— to help unite Magisteria and Quanterium by becoming her very own Minister of Magic and Science.

Well, that's what Owen was calling it, because he'd wanted it to sound cool. Charm had not outright said whether Owen officially had the position or not, only that she was considering bringing him in to help. That day was today. Today, he'd visit Quanterium to spend half the day with Charm, training for his maybe-future-position. His dream job, something a twelve-year-old Owen would've killed for. Just the thought of it made excitement burst through Owen, growing stronger as the date neared.

But now that it was finally here, Owen couldn't help but notice the blossoming pit of nervousness in his stomach. The only place he'd ever worked at was his mother's library, so training for new positions had never quite been something he'd experienced. Especially for something this big! If everything went well, he'd be visiting Quanterium much more often— maybe a few times every week or month— and he'd get to hang out with Charm, who was easily one of the coolest people Owen knew.

Maybe the only thing that would've made it better was if Kiel were working with him, too, but he knew the boy magician could never be pinned down to assisting with presidential duties. Still, he'd definitely stop by to visit Owen (if he got the position), and that excited Owen even more. It meant he'd see his best friend more often than Owen thought he would, since Kiel was moving away soon.

"It's fate!" Kiel had declared, upon hearing the news. "Destiny!"

Owen couldn't help but agree. He also couldn't help but rub it in Bethany's face, since he'd see more of Kiel than she could, once he moved back home.
