You honestly could, say that you were only taking French just to know another language.
"Classe Bonjour. Aujourd'hui, nous avons une nouvelle élève," your teacher says.
"There's a new student," you translate in your head. You look towards the door and you see a boy with brown hair and gorgeous brown eyes step into the room. He then walks over to the teacher as she says, "S'il vous plaît accueillir Liam Payne à notre classe."
Please welcome Liam Payne to our class. You didn't know that the Liam Payne of One Direction went to your college let alone be in your French class. The class was silent; no one was listening to the teacher except you. So you say, "Bonjour Liam."
Your teacher smiles at you and so does Liam. All of the students turn in their seats and send you death glares; you were the teacher's pet. "You can have a seat next to (y/n)," your teacher says in English so Liam understands.
He slowly walks to you...it was almost like Baywatch. When he reaches the seat next to you, he reaches out his hand for yours. "I'm Liam. You must be (y/n)," he says.
You were mesmerized by his lips and eyes. Instead of answering him, you nod. Both your and Liam's attention goes to the teacher when she says, "Aujourd'hui, vous allez travailler en groupe. Vous allez travailler avec la personne à côté de vous."
You feel Liam's lips by your ear as he asks, "What did she say...you know, since I'm new?" His lips had tickled your ear and you laughed.
"Quoi de (y/n) est si drôle?"
"Nothing. I'm sorry," you reply.
"En français!" The only thing you hated about this class was that you had to speak French the entire time, even if it was to converse amongst friends.
"Rien. Je suis désolé." Your teacher goes on about what she was talking about before your laughter interrupted her.
"So what did she say?" Liam asks again. You look at him and notice he was sitting pretty close to you.
"Well," you whisper, "the first thing she said was that we'll be working in groups and that we're working with the people next to us. So that means, you and I are in a group."
"You speak French beautifully, (y/n)." You blush and he smiles.
"Merci, Liam." Liam must have known some French because he says, "You're welcome."
The rest of the class, you and Liam get to know each other and Liam asks you if you wanted to hang out sometime. And you say yes.
