Daphne Rosier always thought life would be easy, it was meant to be easy for her. The easiest thing she had ever done. She had been born with a silver spoon in the mouth, a loving family (?)—well, they were loving most of the times. She had been blessed with a little brother that she had cherished since he had joined her world. Evan Rosier, her little brother, would forever have a special place in her heart. She had seen her cousins with their siblings and she had been feeling over the moon to finally experience it.
Bacchus and Amalthea Rosier were loving, they really were. Amalthea used to be a Black, a noble house of pure-blood they said. Bacchus was apparently wealthy and good enough to marry her, Daphne did believe her father was good. He wasn't the villain of her history, at least.
In her seventeen years of living, she had seen it all—more than she excepted to. It had all started when Andromeda Black, her beloved cousin, had come home for the Christmas holidays and had blurred out her love for Ted Tonks, a Muggle-born who was in Hufflepuff. Druella Black and Cygnus Black had disowned her as soon as they heard, Aunt Walburga had taken the time to burn her off the family tapestry.
Then, Sirius Black had become friends with what they called blood-traitors and half-bloods, Walburga had known about it since he had started school but Sirius being the stubborn person that he was, hadn't stopped hanging out with them. He ran away at sixteen and had also been burned off the tapestry.
She should have known that history would catch up to her somehow. Daphne was dragged into the dark side of the War with Tom Riddle and many other things that she wouldn't be capable to list. It was meant to be, was all she could tell herself. Thankfully, her parents didn't care of her friends as long as she listened and it was enough for her.
But, she should have excepted it to not be over. As she finished seventh year, all she could think of was one simple yet destructive word.
War.
With war came destruction, grief and death—nothing Daphne was ready to be part of, but would have to eventually.
Daphne Rosier soon came to the realisation that she had doomed herself to a life of pure distraught, but James Potter somehow made it better—so much better.
