Ye Yang left the Nine Heavens at about the same time when the God of Justice Li Yin went on his way to the dragon realm. The two of them didn't meet, having left from different sides of the capital city, but when one arrived in the demon realm, the other one arrived at the steps of the dragon king's palace.

Li Yin looked at the guards and inclined his head. "I'm here to pay one of your residents a visit."

Even though Li Yin wasn't necessarily somebody who would come over often, he had been there just yesterday and he was also well-known enough that most guards were able to recognize him at a glance or two.

They greeted him and one of them stepped forward, motioning inside. "Welcome, God of Justice. Would you like somebody to go and announce you?" When it was a private visit, usually, the dragons wouldn't bother about something like this unless the person wasn't sure where to find the one they wanted to see. In this case though, this was one of the titled gods from the Nine Heavens' capital city so it seemed better to be a bit more careful in their approach. If the guest wanted help, who would they be to not render it?

Li Yin shook his head though. "No, I know my way there. Thank you for offering though." With that, he walked straight past the guards and made his way over to Qiu Ling's room.

Actually, he really would've liked to catch Zhong Jing Yi alone but considering the dynamic he had observed between them so far, he didn't think that that would happen. No, he had to go and see them together.

Come to think of it, maybe it was better to bring this up in front of the dragon king. He wasn't too sure but if he went behind his back and the matter came out later on, it might impact the relationship between their races. That also wouldn't be good. Also, the dragon king would likely want the Son of Heaven to return so he might be able to help him in his argumentation and convince his lover.

Either way, since he had figured out a way to solve this now, he wouldn't waste too much time with finding the perfect moment to announce his findings. No, there was no need for that. They had to make the decision on their own but he wanted to give them the information as early as possible. How they dealt with it ... he couldn't influence that.

When Li Yin got there, nobody could be seen in the corridor. He wasn't sure if it was because he was too early or if the dragons were already up and about but he still walked over to the door and knocked.

At this time, Qiu Ling and Jing Yi had just gotten ready to go out. Anyway, there was nothing they could do to help with Xin Lan's matter next door and Qiu Ling had sat down until late at night yesterday to deal with official matters so there wasn't too much to do in the morning. It was the perfect time for an outing in the city so Jing Yi could get more familiar with it and wouldn't be bored all the time.

Hearing the knock, Qiu Ling couldn't help but raise his brows. Was that once again trouble knocking on the door? Somehow, these days, that always seemed to be the case. Still, as dragon king, he didn't have the luxury to just ignore it. "Come on in."

Li Yin opened the door and then raised his brows at Qiu Ling. "I was already informed that you were doing well but it's good to actually see you up and clearly better." Yes, looking at Qiu Ling, he really seemed to be better than before. The expression in his eyes hadn't been right before even over the course of the day because no matter what his subconscious was saying, knowing what was going on with him had to have taken its toll as well. Now, that the threat was gone, he could relax. It showed.

Qiu Ling's brows wandered higher when he saw just who his guest was, but he still motioned at the table. "So it was the God of Justice. To be honest, I was not expecting you. Why don't you have a seat?"

Li Yin inclined his head and went over, taking a seat and looking at the two of them one after the other. "You will be wondering why I am here. To be honest, I'm not sure if you will like what I have to say."

Qiu Ling gave a hum and took the seat opposite him, leaning back. "You know, those aren't necessarily my favorite kinds of words but then again, in the current situation, I guess I should expect to hear them."

Li Yin gave a faint smile in response. "Well, I guess the dragon king doesn't need to worry that much. As for your lover though ..." he turned to Zhong Jing Yi, his gaze unreadable.

Jing Yi hadn't sat down, always feeling that it was better to keep some distance between himself and the God of Justice after what had happened before. Hearing this, he stepped closer to Qiu Ling and put his hands on his shoulders, feeling a bit more secure being close to him. "Why?"

Li Yin sighed and then also leaned back, looking a bit relaxed for once. "Don't worry, it's not that I'm going to do anything. It is just that after what happened yesterday, I couldn't help but think and I've come to the realization that we have neglected something very important."

Qiu Ling reached out, grabbing onto Jing Yi's hand, while he leaned back forward, making sure that he was ready to interfere in case Li Yin was trying to do something after all. "What would that be?"

Li Yin glanced at his change in posture but continued to sit as before, not wanting to aggravate the dragon king further. They had just gotten him back to normal so it was better not to risk anything.

"Your reaction to His Highness' possible demise was able to be salvaged by clouding those memories with the water from the River of Forgetfulness. The same thing that is being used in our trials to facilitate starting them in the first place. This made me think that maybe we should have gone back and looked at the start of this trial for answers in the first place."

His gaze shifted back to Zhong Jing Yi, still not showing his feelings on the matter. "The situation with you and His Highness will need to be solved before the effect of the water runs out. That is the only way to keep your lover safe from repercussions. Solving this issue now also requires that you are not killed.

"Before this, our thinking was too rigid. In fact, there is a simple way to do that: You only have to give your soul up willingly."
