Yi Yun wasn't sure if he understood right. Usually, Li Yin would tell him if there were important matters, considering that he was already one of the senior officials. In fact, among the people at the Court of Justice, his status was probably the second-highest right after the God of Justice. To not know what was going on was unusual but then it seemed that there was still more information necessary for the God of Justice to make a decision. In that case, it didn't see them too strange that he wouldn't talk about it yet.

Thinking of that, Yi Yun just nodded. "Then I will go and take care of this matter. If there is anything else you need help with, let me know. Especially now that we have more time to solve this matter with the dragon king, it shouldn't be a problem to take matters a little slower in regard to the scrolls of fate."

Li Yin inclined his head and then waited for him to leave before he leaned back and sighed deeply. More time ... To be honest, he didn't want to see them spending more time on this. He wanted them to solve this issue and then get on with their usual lives. But it seemed that no matter what he wished for it, he'd have to accept that it wouldn't be that easy.

No, right now, there was always one issue after the other. Just like right now, when the matter with Longjun Qiu Ling had been stabilized, they suddenly needed to get involved in the demon realm's matters. Also, there was still that person he had seen at the dragon realm.

Li Yin narrowed his eyes, finally paying some thought to that golden-haired beauty he had seen. He wasn't an idiot. He might've never seen Longjun Jinde for himself because he was too young, but he was still old enough to have heard the rumors about him and he didn't think that there was another person of the same description that could get so close to Qiu Ling and treat him in such a way. Not to mention that ascended deity's odd behavior in the past when it concerned this husband. So that ... left the question of whether that person was really who he thought he was.

In the end, he didn't bother thinking about it any further. Whether he was the old dragon king or not, for the moment, it didn't matter. He would probably bring it up to the dragons should something happen to Qiu Ling, but otherwise, they could deal with that themselves. As for him, he had more important things to do.

Li Yin got up and walked to the door of his study, calling one of the officials over to go and inquire about whether there was news from the dragon realm already and if not, to go and find out from there. He wasn't willing to wait.

Having done that, he turned back and closed the door behind him. "Leng Lu."

Nothing happened and Li Yin couldn't help but feel a little annoyed. This guy, he hadn't come to see him even once since the last time. Now, he wouldn't even respond when he called him. Did he deserve this kind of lover?

"Leng Lu." He didn't bother to raise his voice. He knew that Leng Lu could hear him. He always could. Just like he was always keeping an eye and ear on their child. So really, if he didn't react, it was because he didn't want to come. But then, he also didn't need him to appear. He just needed him to listen first.

He finally tilted his head, his black hair her splaying over his shoulder. "I thought about what you said the last time. That 'simple solution' that you mentioned ... was it to have him give up his soul willingly? Just like we do for the trials?"

He was silent after that and just waited. If Leng Lu had any intention of answering him, he would come. If not, then even if he somehow managed to drag him out, it wouldn't matter. If he wanted answers, he could only hope that the other person would give them willingly.

For a while, nothing happened, and Li Yin could only rub his forehead again before going over to sit down at his desk and wait.

Just then, there was another knock on the door. He looked over, feeling a little annoyed, but still called out.

The small official from before poked his head in and nodded faintly. "I just wanted to leave when news came from the dragon realm. Apparently, it worked." He looked a little strange saying that, clearly not getting the message he had brought, but Li Yin already understood.

He waved, feeling a bit better. "Alright, I understand. You may go."

The small official inclined his head and then left, closing the door behind him.

As soon as the steps outside had faded away, the air in front of Li Yin warped and a person stepped out of the gate, a street faintly visible behind him.

Li Yin looked at him and faintly raised his brows. "You took your sweet time."

Leng Lu leaned down, tilting his head to the side and looking at the door before turning back to Li Yin. "Oh, so you wanted me to be seen by that small official? I'm afraid you would have a lot of things to explain in just a short amount of time then."

Li Yin gave a hum, also knowing that Leng Lu had had his reasons. Still, he was a bit annoyed with him. "So, since you finally came out, are you going to give me a response this time?"

Leng Lu straightened back up and turned around, walking over to the door to the courtyard. This place couldn't be entered from any other side so it was pretty safe. Actually, even if somebody opened the door, as long as he didn't turn around, it wasn't like they would know.

Looking out there at that carefully crafted gardens that really was too easy to take care of, he gave a hum of his own. "We haven't seen each other in so long and that is what you finally called me over for?"

Li Yin glanced at him and then couldn't help but get up and walk over, pulling Leng Lu into his arms. "Are you angry because of that? But then, you also know that it isn't easy to meet up. What am I supposed to do? You know better than I do when it is convenient. Come over when you want to. I'm the last one who would complain about that."

Leng Lu finally turned, reaching up to cup Li Yin's chin, and leaned closer, giving him a short kiss on the lips. "You are better at talking than I remember. Since you are interested in this matter, I will tell you: You're right. That is the easy solution to your problem. Just ... do it where the dragon king can see and with both of them present and there shouldn't be a problem.

"If there still is ..." He raised a hand, looking at his fingertips, and finally couldn't help but chuckle. "I'd offer to help but it might not be such a good idea to expose that there's a fallen god you know privately."

Li Yin looked at him, unable to see the humor in that. If he could, he really would've loved to have that kind of open and aboveboard relationship that others could boast of. But unfortunately, his lover had already fallen. And that was the one kind of relationship you really couldn't have. Even dating a demon might have been easier.
