While the three of them started talking about the necessary preparations, Qiu Ling and Jing Yi indeed went into the city, trying to find a seamstress to make a pair of wedding robes.

Walking down the street, Qiu Ling couldn't help but have some mixed feelings. He did know that marrying Jing Yi was the right decision. It would probably help with his issues and he could make true on his promise. Also, it would probably alleviate some of the pain that Jing Yi was feeling over how he had treated him over the years.

But at the same time, there was a nagging feeling of him betraying Jing He. After all, the person he was going to marry was no longer just his reincarnation but the person who had tried to kill him. And while he could still explain the former to him in a way that he might be able to accept, the latter was impossible. And it felt even more like Jing He would be replaced. He didn't have any doubt that Jing He would have trouble accepting that.

So yes, saying that he had some second thoughts about this was an understatement. And it didn't get better with the people looking at them, clearly recognizing him, and knowing that soon enough, they would also realize that this was the person he was currently with.

Not just that, considering that everyone knew about his infatuation with Jing He, they would also realize that he had somehow fallen in love with somebody else. With that ... well, either Jing He's trial would become public knowledge, or his heritage would be put into question.

Realizing this, he couldn't help but clench his fists. He wasn't ready for this. He had already completely freaked out after telling Fu Min and Fu Heng and those two were his advisers. Despite how things had been in the past years, he trusted them to a rather high degree. But when it came to the regular people, could he really expect them to understand? He didn't think so. And yet ... he did not have another choice, had he?

Jing Yi looked up at him, realizing that Qiu Ling seemed to be somewhere else with his thoughts. They had already walked past two buildings that had looked as if they would be the right place to go but Qiu Ling hadn't even noticed. Clearly, his thoughts were preoccupied with something else, and judging from the way he currently carried himself, it wasn't a good thing.

He hesitated for a moment but then still reached out, grabbing onto his arm. "You know, if you regret your choice, I would understand." While he surely wanted to marry him as well, Qiu Ling's well-being was more important.

Qiu Ling was pulled out of his thoughts and turned to look at him, shaking his head. "No, that's not it. I was just thinking ... the implications of this might be stretching further than I realized in the beginning."

Jing Yi wasn't sure what he meant and also wasn't sure if this would be a good place to talk about it. Looking around the street, he finally lowered his voice. "You know, if it's not good to do it this way, we can also go to the human realm to find a pair of robes. Anyway, if we want a human ceremony, then that might be more appropriate anyway."

Qiu Ling turned to look at him and couldn't help but feel that this idea had a lot of appeal. It would be easier and he wouldn't have to expose anything.

He stopped in the middle of the street, thinking for a while. In any case, while this would solve the issue with the robes, it couldn't solve the general problem. After all, the news that he had married would still spread, and then, it would come out what was happening.

He furrowed his brows and finally shook his head. "I don't think that would make much of a difference. You know, I'm worried about ..." He shook his head, not sure how to explain.

Jing Yi didn't really want to guess but seeing how Qiu Ling was behaving, he figured that it wouldn't be good to just keep quiet either. "Is it about Jing He?"

Qiu Ling smiled wryly in response. "In part, I guess. But that's not all. It is just that people don't know that you are his reincarnation. Most people don't, at least. And as soon as we marry and that information is spread around, that will make people question things. A dragon can only fall in love once. This situation is special but I don't think that we can just announce how you and Jing He are related to each other. That wouldn't really ..." He shook his head, not knowing what else to say.

"Oh." Jing Yi finally realized what the problem was. This wasn't directly about Jing He but about Qiu Ling's parentage instead. He was afraid that people would realize that he wasn't a full-blooded dragon.

Unfortunately, he also didn't know what to do about this. He didn't know that much about the dragons and gods and coming up with a solution for a problem that involved both races wasn't something he could do easily. Still, he didn't want to just leave things as they were. "Well, maybe we could go to the mortal realm first to get the robes and win a little time like that. Then, you could probably try to find a solution with your advisers? Maybe even ask the gods about it?"

Qiu Ling wasn't sure about this either but slowly nodded. "Well, that would be one way to go about it." But then, he didn't always want to take the easy way out. Since he had promised, then he should stand by it and go ahead with it no matter the consequences.

Realizing this, he finally shook his head and motioned ahead. "No, let's go and get the robes here. Anyway, sooner or later, it will come out. Maybe having the information spread slowly will be better. Anyway, we won't be able to keep it a secret forever. Either the trial will have to be talked about or my heritage. We'll see which one it will be."
