you sat in the lot, the cold air sending a chill down your body.
waiting...
soon, footsteps behind you.
you knew who it was.
you immediately turned at the sound of johnny, who slumped down next to you... hiding his face.
"hey babe-" you started, placing your finger under his chin. you turned his face towards you gently- a large cut on his cheek-
bleeding.
tears falling down his face.
"johnny-" you started again, rummaging for a cloth in your bag next to you.
you grabbed one- your water bottle, and a band-aid, and immediately started to clean in out.
you heard a small sniffle.
you watched as sad tears trickled down his face. causing you to frown empathetically.
you placed the bandaid over it- immediately embracing him into a large hug, him snuggling into your chest.
more tears came falling down his face.
a few seconds of silence.
"will it ever get better?" he asked, tears still falling down his cheeks.
he looked up to you.
you smiled warmly, and placed a gentle kiss on his cheek.
"i promise you." you replied, wiping the tears off his face.
he snuggled deeper into your chest.
and you would never break that promise.
