(Disclaimer. Yenjun does have an english name which is daniel and to keep the illusion that he was someone raised in america i will be using that name. Yenjun did live in america for 2 years)

Yeonjun Pov

I was chilling with some friends when I looked over to see her sitting on the bench by herself. Knowing it was my best friend, I walked up next to her sitting down. "(Y/N)" no response. "Earth to (Y/N)" still nothing. This girl... "(Y/N)! Wake Up!"

She snapped out of it looking at me with wide eyes but they softened when she realized who i was. "Oh hey Daniel" was all she said. Seriously not "how have you been" or "sorry i haven't messaged you lately' just 'oh hey'

"You brat" i playfully hit her. "That's all you have to say. You haven't replied to me in a month and you dont even give me a hug or explain where you have been" she grabbed her arm acting hurt "Work has just been busy ok. I need to keep up with the raising gas prices."

"Still a simple quick text saying. Sorry i'm not dead i'm just working ill talk to you later. Would have been nice. Making me think i was cut out of your life." i pouted and she hit my arm. "Stop being a baby, you have plenty of friends the whole school adores you, losing me wouldn't change anything."

She went back to looking at the dog and boy playing. "There is one thing that makes you different from everyone else you are my best friend." She looked bag at me shaking her head then back at the dog. "Is that Maverick?"

She hummed in response still looking at them. "Who is that with him?" I squinted at the tall brown haired kid. "Jeong Yunho my households new foren exchange student"

I furrowed my eyebrows at her in shock. "You guys took in a male exchange student" she turned to me itching her neck "eh technically my mom did without telling me. But i'm cool with it i guess"

The tall kid started walking over to us and he was slightly panting. Maverick followed behind with the ball in his mouth

"oh hello there baby" i started petting maverick. He was as soft as always. "H-Hello" the tall kid spoke to me in broken english. "Um Yunho, this is my best friend Daniel Choi. He is Korean as well. Except. Hmm Hey, what's your Korean name again?"

I stood up and held my hand out in a fist "Choi Yeonjun But in america i go by Daniel" i replied in korean. "I was born in america but lived there when i was nine to take care of my grandparents for two years"

"Oh great now you two can talk bad about me in front of me without me knowing" I scoffed. "Why would I do that to my best friend? I'm hurt that you think so low of me." She kicked my leg "Save me yunho she is abusive" I ran behind the taller pouting.

"Yah! (Y/N) Why do you abuse him" he said jokingly "I feel targeted. Maverick, how could they be so mean. You really are man's best friend because you're a way better friend then Daniel. Lets go get ice cream together and leave these two to slander us in korean"

She started to stand up and walk away. "Hey wait no (Y/N) Im sorry no you're my best friend" I chased after her as she was laughing. "No, go be with your new bestie Me and maverick will go get ice cream by ourselves."

Yunho caught up to us and (Y/N) put a maverick on his leash. "Do you think maverick could order you your favorite ice cream hah i think not. He can't even eat it."

She shook her head. "At least Maverick gives me hugs without complaining. And you only know my ice cream because it's your favorite too" She shot back at me.

"Mhm Mint chocolate chip" Yunho who was walking behind us spoke towards our words. "how can you guys like toothpaste ice cream?" both me and (Y/N) gasped in shock. "You dare slander the best ice cream" he shook his head.

"Oh hey well it was good seeing you but I gotta get back to my group. Oh um im having a party for the senior class sunday if you want you guys can come. It's at my house, you know where that is. I hope to see you guys there."

"I'll see Bestie Bye" She hugged me then I took off back to my friends.

(Y/N) Pov

As Daniel ran back I turned to yunho. "So do you wanna get ice cream? there is a place just down the road?" he nodded. "Um sure but you weren't serious about liking mint ice cream were you?"

I scoffed. How can he not like it? It's so cool and refreshing. "I was serious. Mint Chocolate chip is the most refreshing flavor and I will take that to the grave."

"Your weird. Who eats toothpaste"

oh no he didn't.

"Hey you take that back!"

"It taste like toothpaste. I will take that to grave"

He paused in between some of the words. Him and his broken english i started laughing. "Start a debate with me when you can talk without sounding broken"

I spoke in a mocking way making it seem I couldn't speak english. He lightly shoved me and I shoved back except he didn't really budge and I moved more than him falling back, almost ending up in the streat.

Before I could fully fall he grabbed me as I flinched, he spun us to where his back was to the road and I was right on his chest. The heat rushed to my face as I froze.

"Hey are you okay? You need to be careful" he looked down at me and i looked up at his face. We stayed like that for a sec when I heard what I think was his heart racing.

I then backed away looking the other way. "Um S-Sorry" he shook his head "No I'm sorry I should not have grabbed you I just saw you falling back it was... um... uh... reflexes."

We continued walking, eventually arriving. It was a bit awkward until we both had our ice cream. We also got Maverick some. We headed back to the car to go home.
