In A Lifetime ( KBTBB : Eisuke Ichinomiya )

Chapter 7

After Carolina takes me to an abandoned warehouse by the sea, Mr Ichinomiya and Soryu somehow appear out of the blue and put a stop to everything.

"Don't you think your joke's gone to far, Carolina?" repeats Mr Ichinomiya, scowling.

"I-I'm sorry ... I was doing it for you, Eisuke ... "

"Carolina the best thing about you is your honest. Don't lie to me now."

"I had no choice! I was jealous of Grace since you love her so much." admits Carolina. "So I thought i'd show her by making her smell like a skunk!"

"Wait, a skunk!? I thought you were going to shoot me..."

"They were holding onto tiny bottles." explains Mr Ichinomiya. "I bet it has skunk scent inside of them."

"It was my ultimate secret weapon!" she exclaims.

Oh, god, I though I was done for when he pulled out that thing from his pockets. I'm glad that it wasn't a gun but I find myself even happier that they came to save me. However, the thought of having skunk scent poured all over me makes me tremble even though I know it's a lot better than having a bullet wedged in my head.

"...Tch. I'm glad i'm not the one you fell for." commented Soryu.

"Soryu ... " muttered Carolina, looking upset.

"If you really loved him, you wouldn't do anything to upset him."

"If I really loved him...? I can't believe i'm being lectured about love..." complains Carolina, but then her face brightens up. "But that must mean you are geniunely concerned about me!"

As she says that, she gazes at Soryu with a totally charmed expression. Wait a second, don't tell me she ...

"I've found true love... " she says, dazed.

"Huh?" Soryu looks stunned.

"Grace, you can have Eisuke." she says, turning to me. "Because now I have Soryu!"

"What!?" It's obvious that Soryu wasn't expecting this to happen but for some reason, I get the feeling that Mr Ichinomiya was hoping this would happen.

"Heheh..." he chuckles. "Just as I planned..."

"Eisuke, you...!" Soryu looks infuriated but Mr Ichinomiya just grins.

"I guess she prefers cool guys like you, Soryu."

"You've gotta be kidding me!" he sighs. "...Inui, it's me. Bring the car around!"

"Waaahhh!! Wait, Soryu!" Carolina yells as she chases after a fleeing Soryu. "Now, I understand why Fang likes you so much!"

"Miss Bucci, please wait!" yell the two henchman as they also run after them, leaving just me and Mr Ichinomiya in the warehouse.

"Um, thanks for coming to save me ... " I mutter.

"I don't like it when people touch things that belong to me without permission."

"How did you know I was here?"

"Well, you said you'd be back in 5 minutes but when you were over 10 minutes late, I thought something was strange and checked the GPS."

"There's a GPS tracker on the pager?"

"I need to know where my things are at all times." he starts. "...It looks like you kept up the act as my girlfriend in front of her."

"Well, um, I thought that's what I was supposed to do, isn't it...?"

"You did well. Thanks to you, Carolina's affections have now turned to Soryu."
