The weeks bled into each other, and Christmas break was quickly approaching.

Something between Regulus and Rune had been triggered.

Their arguments during lessons and scowls and rude hand gestures were at an all-time high.

Professor McGonagall was seeing to punishing them on her own accord and the two of them often trudged across the school in the icy cold weather picking up garbage and sweeping away leaves.

It was the afternoon after they had such a big disagreement about polymers during Transfigurations and Regulus had made Rune's watermelon explode that they were on the grounds outside the Astronomy tower to sweep as punishment.

Regulus sat his poised bum down on the bench and was laying across it with his eyes closed.

Rune purposefully flicked up the sand and leaves so it sullied his clothes.

When nearly ten minutes passed of him being completely useless, she stomped towards him and stopped beside his head.

With his eyes still closed, he reached out and pushed her until she was standing further down.

"You were blocking the sunlight, blondie."

"You are meant to be doing half the load!"

He shook his head. "These hands weren't made for manual labor."

"Regulus," she said sharply.

"Blondie," he sighed. He opened his eyes and squinted up at her. "My shoulder's injured."

"It should be healed now."

"It's not."

"It is."

"It's not."

She reached down and pulled at his sweater. The bandages were gone. The only evidence left of the injury was the scar that ran from the base of his neck over his shoulder.

"It's healed." She pushed his sweater back up. "Get up and help me."

"You've become violent with me. You used to be gentle." He smirked as he said, "Guess you really don't like me anymore. This other guy must be something exceptionally special to make you get over me. What does he look like?"

"You keep asking about him. You're beginning to sound obsessed."

"Just wondering who's catching my leftovers is all," he replied.

When he saw her brows knitting together, he smiled.

"Rune," called a voice from a little away.

Both Regulus and Rune turned to see Barty walking towards them.
