Regulus was just about to get ready for bed when he heard the door open and simultaneous sighs from all of his dormmates. That meant one thing and one thing only.

He shook his head and untucked his blanket just as he felt her presence.

Rune walked in front of him with a big smile on her face and folded her arms.

Regulus lifted his hand to his head and sighed before looking at her and forcing on a smile. "Hi, intelligent girl. How many more times are you going to do this?"

"Until you compliment something other than my brains." She stood up again and left.

"Listen Reg," piped up Mulciber. "I know we're not friends or anything but if you could just do me one favor and make her stop, I would be eternally grateful."

The door opened again, louder this time and Rune walked in as she had the ten times before. With a bounce in her step and a grin on her face.

She walked up to Regulus again and waited in front of him.

"Hello, best potion brewer."

"I can do this all night," whispered Rune with a roll of her eyes as she spun on her heel and left the room again, banging it on the way out.

"Can't we lock her out or something?" asked Avery, pulling his blanket over his head. "I can't sleep!"

Regulus said nothing to them and in the time, it took him to wash up, change into his pyjamas and get into bed, Rune showed up in front of him four more times.

When he heard the door open, he shut his eyes and within seconds, he knew the curtains around his bed had been opened just enough for her to slip through and then shut.

He kept his eyes closed, wondering just how far she was willing to go.

Nearly five minutes later, when she still stood at his bedside, he sighed.

"You are one persistent bugger."

"That doesn't sound like a greeting or a compliment," she pointed out.

"Hello. I admire how persistent you are."

She audibly groaned and just as she left his bedside again, he heard Mulciber say, "I'll say it. I'll say it. Hello, Rune. I admire everything about you. Your brains too, but especially other things. I think you're beautiful."

"Me too," added in Avery. "Me too, I think you're the most beautiful girl in the world. Just please, stop coming into our room."

"Hmm," said Rune thoughtfully. He could hear the laughter in her voice as she said, "No."

From the sounds both Mulciber and Avery made, it sounded as though they were about to burst into tears.

When two minutes later, Rune appeared at Regulus' bedside once more, he said, "Hello, Rune."

"Hi, Reg. What's up?"

In a voice quiet enough that the other boys wouldn't hear, he said, "I like your eyes. There, I said something. Goodnight."

He turned on his side so his back faced her and waited for her to leave.
