You're my girl // Carol

"Carol!" You yell and run towards her. "I missed you so much." You say while hugging her. "I missed you too (y/n/n)." Carol says holding you a little tighter. "Never leave me for such a long time ever again." You say with some tears rolling down your cheeks. "I won't." She says closing her eyes and relaxing into your embrace.

~A little later~

"What's bothering you?" You ask Carol, knowing that something is not right. "Nothing's wrong. I'm okay." She says with a chuckle. "Come on Carol. I know when something's bothering you." You say holding her hand.

"Maria told me you haven't been taking good care of yourself ever since I left 2 years ago. That you've been locking yourself up in your room and I just feel really guilty about it, because I know how afraid you are of being left by someone again... and I just left you for 2 years, while you have always looked out for me. I just feel really bad for leaving you and hurting you, because I never wanted to make you feel lonely or sad." Carol says with tears rolling down her cheeks. "Uhmm... I have to admit that it was pretty lonely without you, but I understand that you have a duty to protect the universe." You say softly squeezing her hand. "Yes, but I shouldn't have left you like that. I'm just afraid that you'll be mad at me for it." Carol says looking down. "Hey. I could never be mad at you. You're my girl. My Carol and I love you more than anybody else." You say lifting her chin up so you can look her in the eyes.

"I love you too." She says smiling. "Don't be sad, because you'll never get rid of me." You say wiping her tears away and she laughs. "Now we are going to get ready and have some fun like old times." You say hugging her and pressing a kiss on her cheek.

After you left Carol shed some more tears, thinking that you would never love her the same way that she loves you. But she quickly got herself hyped up, knowing that you would be spending a lot of time together again.

~Time skip~

You and Carol have been spending some time at a karaoke bar, like you always used to do. Carol stopped after having sung four songs with you, but you wanted to do one more. "So this is for a very special someone." You say slurring your words, cause you're a little drunk. You start singing 'Can't take my eyes off you', pointing, smiling and winking at Carol the whole time.

When you're done you go on the dance floor with Carol and a man comes up to you. "Wanna dance baby?" He asks you and before you could even respond Carol grabbed his arm really tight. "Fuck off. She's mine." Carol says and the man leaves you two alone. "I'm yours?" You ask teasing her. "Yes. Now shut up and dance with me." Carol says.

"Carol?" You say while dancing. "Yeah." She responds. "Both of us have always spend so much time together and sometimes the team jokes about how we are more than just friends... and I sometimes wonder if they might actually be right." You say pulling back. "Do you want to be more than just friends?" Carol asks. "Well I uhh... I know that I care about you a lot and that I want to spend a lot of my time with you. I love you more than anybody in the whole universe. I guess I was just to scared to admit it to myself and maybe risk losing you. In those two years I realized that it has always been you." You say. "You have no idea how long I've been waiting for you to say that." Carol say smiling at you and you embrace her again and slowly start dancing again.

"I love you (y/n/n)." Carol says. "I love you too captain." You say giving her a kiss.

Later at night when you came back to the compound, your home, Carol could finally do what she always dreamed of. Kiss you, hold you, touch you and wake up next to you. Something she wishes to do for the rest of her life...
