When Malcolm finally came back home, I was wide awake.
I couldn't sleep.
My initial plan was to talk to him about what happened this afternoon but I backed out.

"You were waiting on me? "Malcolm asked me and gave me a kiss.

I was sitting up on our bed like I was waiting for him.
However, I was just too guilty to sleep this time around.
I don't recall feeling like this when Caesar and I made love.
Was it because Zala knew this time?

"Yah I was waiting on you. "I lied. "How was work? "I added to ask.

"Good. Not too bad...... Caesar quit. Did he talk to you about it? "Malcolm asked me as he got out of his suit.

The mentioning of Caesar made me take a hard swallow.
I felt as though Malcolm could read my face.

"No actually. He quit today? "I asked Malcolm.

"Yah. At 4pm. "He answered me. "I didn't really ask why because I was busy and I thought he'd tell you. I just handed him his last cheque and that was it. "Malcolm told me.

Malcolm proceeded to take a shower.
I was panicking.
What if Caesar texted him what happened earlier today.
So I took Malcolm's phone and checked his texts.
To my surprise he last texted Caesar a month ago.

"Are you sick? Is it too hot. "Malcolm asked me worriedly when he got out the shower.

"I'm fine. "I answered and smiled.

"You're usually so tired and sleepy at this hour. "Malcolm added.

I just chuckled. He continued to tell me about work, in detail this time.
He also told me about Liya and Hailee.
He addressed them as my friends but I don't know about that anymore.

Genesis

Since I slept late the previous night, I found myself sleeping more than usual.
When I went down stairs after my shower, I found Caesar sitting at the table with Malcolm.
I was going to go back to my room but I had to act natural.
Zala was in the living room with Trey, they were watching the usual.

"Good morning. "I greeted both of them in confidently.

Caesar answered but Malcolm stayed quiet which made me really scared.

"Uhm..... What's being talked about? "I asked casually.

"A hospital near here where we can have a paternity test done. "Caesar answered like it wasn't a big deal.

"Oh.... For Autumn? I asked with impossible hope.

"Caesar told me that you two got intimate and that baby you're carrying might be his so...... Let's go find out. "Malcolm said looking disappointed.

Malcolm got up and left for our room.

"Why would you do this? "I asked Caesar.

"I knew you wouldn't tell him. "Caesar answered me.

"What? I had some sorta deadline? "I asked upset and scared.
