Years
The dreams from when we were 6 years old
Are now slowly slipping away
From becoming a reality in the next years of our life
Little James wanted to be a billionaire
Little Amy wanted to be a movie star
Little Jake wanted to work in healthcare
Little Stefan wanted to be a rock star and play his older brothers' guitar
That was when all our worries
Were who would win in the game of foursquare
Nothing can compare
To before we all had to be mature
Now no one is sure of what they want to become
Before their years start to run out
Do I want to be a movie star?
Or what about working in Times square?
I could become an entrepreneur.
I'm going to go play my acoustic guitar
And breathe in some fresh air
To clear my head of this growing fear
I might just wish on a shooting star
So, I can achieve my dream of attending a movie premiere
Before the only chance I have disappears
I still have many years
I'm only 16 years old
But that doesn't keep the creeping fear from growing
