"you're lucky you weren't killed, you have to realize who you are harry." hermione lectured
"i know who i am hermione, all right?" i snapped "sorry" i apologized for my tone. we paused when we saw ron and lavender snogging by the window
"if you'll excuse me i have to go vomit" hermione scoffed before walking away
i continued my walk to dumbledores office, when i arrived i saw y/n walking out with moony, he kissed the top of her head before walking away
"is everything okay?" i asked as i approached her
"he's just being paranoid about greyback, it's fine, but i have to go" y/n walked away without another word
i shake the conversation off before entering dumbledores office, when i entered, he led me to the penseive, with a memory already in it, i take a deep breath before i felt my surroundings change
"sir, is it true that professor merrythought is retiring?" one of the boys at the table asked
"now tom, i couldn't tell you if i knew, could i?" professor slughorn replied "but out of curiosity, howd you know?"
"intuition" tom shrugged
the clock on the chimed a few times catching the professors attention
"my my would you look at the time. is it that time already? of you go boys, or you'll be written for a detention"
the boys left, tom stayed behind. tom flicked a hourglass, catching the professors attention once more
"look sharp tom. don't want to be caught after hours. is there something you'd like to discuss?"
"i would actually" tom replied placing his hands in his pockets "you see, i couldn't think of anyone else to go to. the other professors, well, they're not like you. they wouldnt quite understand"
"go on" slughorn looked slightly uneasy
"i was in the library, in the restricted section actually, i read something about rare magic, and i thought you could enlighten me about it, it's called if i remember....."
their voices trailed off, lips still moving, but no words
"i beg your pardon? i don't know anything about such things, and if i did i would never tell you. get out of here at once and don't ever let me catch you mentioning it again!" slughorn yelled
everything began to fade
"confused?" dumbledore asked to which i nodded "i'd be surprised if you weren't"
