is it my birthday? yes. am i absolutely dreading it? yes.

summer apart from spending time with moony, was absolutely horrible. i haven't got a single letter from anyone, which means no visits, the only human interaction i've gotten is from remus and sometimes tonks who stops by every now and then

i walk downstairs still half asleep and see moony making breakfast

"good morning sleepy head" he looks over his shoulder and smiles

"good night" i sigh and plop down on a chair that surrounds the kitchen island "what's the special occasion" i ask as a joke

"hm i don't know but a little birdy told me that it was a special someones 16th birthday" he flips a pancake

"oh wow, i wonder who is so special that they get remus lupins signature pancakes"

he laughs before placing a kiss on my temple "happy birthday y/n"

he places three plates on the table "hey why are there three plates there's only two of us? is tonks coming?" i grab a piece of bacon

"no" is all he said

i pour myself a cup of tea and sit back down

"happy birthday!"

i turn around and see neville with a bouquet of purple flowers

"neville!" i shoot up and greet him in a hug

"i wanted to write you but my grandmother wouldn't let me apparently it was my punishment" he laughs before handing me the flowers "but i did plant new stuff over the summer"

"come sit," i bring him to the kitchen, we both take a seat "now, tell me all about them"

"i'll see you soon y/n, i'll have your gift by then" he hugs me before bidding him goodbyes to remus

"did you only invite neville?" i ask while locking the door

"well-"

"you can tell me"

"then no, i invited hermione, harry and the weasleys. the weasleys couldn't make it, and well they were the only ones who wrote back"
