today was quidditch tryouts, y/n was in the stands with hermione, lavender and luna, all of them watching the tryouts. y/n didn't want to go to avoid seeing harry but was dragged by hermione to support ron, and of course, y/n couldnt say no

back on the field, harry and ginny were standing in front of a group of gryffindoors being rowdy, ron being the only one paying attention

"alright, i'm going to be putting you all through a few drills to see your strengths" harry tried to grab the attention of the loud group "quiet please" the chattering still continued

"shut it!" ginny yelled and everyone finally silenced

"i could've handled it myself" harry snapped "anyways, remember, just because you were on the team before doesn't mean you'll automatically get a spot this year. is that clear?"

the group nodded

"good."

people began to group off into what positions they were trying for

i'm standing with ron talking when cormac approaches and i grow tense

"no hard feelings?" cormac turns to ron

"hard feelings?"

"yeah, i'll be going for keeper as well"

ron looked a bit intimidated "really? strapping guy like you? you have more of a beaters build dont ya think? keeper needs to be agile and quick"

a fly started to fly around, cormac squished it between his fingers, easily, rons eyes widening. hopefully he's not as good as he seems

"say, what's up with your guys friend y/n?" he looks towards y/n, who's laughing at something with lavender

"what do you mean?" ron says cooly

"is she single or what?"

"it's complicated, but trust me, she doesn't want a git like you" ron smirks

cormac tensed up before getting on his broom, flying up towards the girls, i shot ron a worried glance and he just shrugged his shoulders
