The music starts. Anne and Harry make their way to the dance floor and begin to dance. Her secret lessons with Hermione and Ginny have paid off. She moved smoothly across the dance floor compared to Harry who seemed to be tripping over his own feet. She looked over at Hermione and smiled as she saw her maneuvering with the hulking Viktor. On the sidelines, Ron was watching with narrowed eyes.

She spotted Cedric and Cho and quickly turned her head. She's having a great time; no use torturing herself.

During a break, Anne is surprised when Cedric approaches the table she and Harry are seated at with Ron.

"Hi Anne, care to dance?"

Anne is gratified. "I'd like to. You don't mind, do you, Harry?"

"Not at all," replied Harry. He appeared distracted as he watched Cho,  who was chatting excitedly with her friends.

Dancing with Cedric turns out to be wonderful. Anne is thrilled that, at least, she gets to dance with him even if she isn't his partner. He is a better dancer than Harry and moves her smoothly around the floor.

"You look very beautiful tonight, Anne," Cedric complimented. "Are you having a good time?"

Anne laughed. "I am, thank you."

"Hey, the other day ----I'm sorry...."

"Don't sweat it, Cedric," Anne said quickly. "It's nothing."

"Well, I felt bad, and I want to make it up to you," he told her.

Anne is surprised. "That's very kind of you, but you really don't have to. I'm not upset with you."

But Cedric was persistent. He didn't know why there was something about Anne he was attracted to. "Hey, I want to. I insist. Please."

Anne smiled. "All right. What do you want to do?"

"You want to come with me into Hogsmeade on our next visit?"

"Oh yes! I'd love to!" said Anne happily.
