"Stiles, why can't you just knock?" I hissed, watching as he climbed up onto the roof of the McCall house.

He shot me a grin, standing. "Because that's lame."

I rolled my eyes, stuffing my hands further into my sweatshirt. With my advanced hearing, I knew Scott was moving around in his house, no doubt getting Melissa's baseball bat.

My theory was confirmed when Scott opened the door, the bat poised to strike in his hand.

God, that boy was adorable.

"Sawyer!" He hissed, grinning when he saw me. I raised a hand in a wave, smiling slightly.

"Nice bat," I commented, chuckling. He looked at it, shrugging. "I might've thought you were a predator," he admitted, making me giggle.

"A pred-" Stiles yelped as he fell from the roof, landing in a heap on the ground. He groaned, making me roll my eyes.

"Stiles, you're such a dumbass," I muttered, pulling him to his feet. He grinned.

"Don't be such an ass, Sawyer - so a little birdy told me-" "You mean you were eavesdropping?" Scott cut in, hopping off the porch.

Our shoulders brushed, and I couldn't help but smile.

"Okay, I was eavesdropping. But that's beside the point," he rolled his caramel-colored eyes. "They found a body."

I sank my teeth into my lip, looking worriedly at Stiles. The police had found a dead body, yes - but it had been cut in half.

"A dead body?" Scott asked, his gorgeous brown eyes wide. Stiles rolled his eyes. Sarcastic comment in 3... 2... 1...

"No, a body of water - yes, dumbass, a dead body," he scoffed.

"But it was cut in half," I murmured. A big grin spread over Stiles' face.

"They only found half of it."
