Chapter 44: Saranghae

WHENEVER I lean my eyes on you, I feel delighted. Your genuine smile, glimmering eyes, even a glimpse of your totality--- was perfectly enough to enchant me.

"Cathnis..." my voice shivered while whispering her name.

She's well. No bruises, flesh wounds and even bloodstain can be found on her body.
Instead, sorrow detailing by her eyes and melancholic smile forming on her lips. She was staring at me, pathetically.

"Cathnis? Where is she?" Fiery asked in startled. She wander her eyes around. Sinamaan niya ako ng tingin na ikinakunot-noo ko.

"Wala naman eh," Cassy slap my shoulder that creates a light aches there. She shook her head, frustrated and then she pouted her lips.

Anong pinagsasabi nila? Nakita ko si Cath at buhay siya. Wala kahit na anong gasgas o anumang sugat sa kaniyang katawan. She was standing so well.

"There!" I pointed my finger to my left direction. Naibaba ko rin ang aking daliri ng wala na roon si Cath. "I saw her right there from afar," where did she go? Why did she left me?

Damn it! Am I hallucinating again? Narinig ko ang sabay-sabay nilang pagbuntong-hininga. Inakbayan ako ni Brix na animo'y nasisiraan na rin ng bait. He keeps telling me, "Ayos lang yan, tanggap kita," I gave him a nudge.

Nevertheless, I lull myself. I shouldn't mind what happened a while ago, there's something more important to do so. I could see the guards covering the Alpha Magus Gymnasium, inside and outside.

I halt soon we reach the entrance of the Gymnasium. The extreme colors of different lights and ear-shattering sound produced by the stereo, the deadliest color of the decoration were captivated the place.

I let out a heavy sigh. There's a weight in chest. Nasa harap pa rin kami ng Gym, nagpapakawala ng kabang nararamdaman. Labas masok ang mga tao, napaka gulong titingnan. They were all wearing a formal attire that suit to everyone's style.

I saw Sophia walking from the exit approaching our direction. She was wearing silver dress combined with a silver high heels and a silver purse place on her left hand.

"Hindi kayo papasok?" She was greeted us by a question. Nakangiti na siya hindi kagaya kaninang tanghali na malungkot ang kaniyang mukha.

"Of course, nandiyan na ba silang lahat?" Brix answered. He lossen his necktie. Binasa niya rin ang kaniyang mga labi gamit ang kaniyang dila.

"Yes?" Walang kasiguraduhang sagot naman ni Sophia, "Ang Head Superior na lang ang hinihintay," she added. Palinga-linga siya sa loob. Sinisiguro kung ang Head Superior na lang talaga ang wala pa.

"How about Ariell? I mean Captain A, is he there?" Fiery asked in a sudden. "Wala kasi siya noong nakaraang pagtitipon," she continued.

"Are you with that guy?" Cassy uttered, nang-aasar. Bigla akong napaisip. May alam ba silang hindi ko alam o may tinatago sila sa akin?

Did I lost my friend's trends, now?

"Of course not!" Fiery answered, defensively. After she said it she left us, dumbfounded. Tiim bagang na sinundan siya ni Cassy ng tingin.

"What was that for?" Brix asked. "She was acting so strange," hindi ko rin maintindihan ang mga babae sa panahon ngayon, masyadong guilty sa kanilang mga ginagawa.

Laglag ang mga balikat naming sinundan siya. Pagka pasok ay kaagad na hinanap namin ang lamesa kung saan naroon siya. Hindi alintana ang malakas na tunog ng musika at iba't-ibang amoy na nanunuot sa aming ilong.
