Chapter Thirty Four

“I choose for her die!” Envy heinously laughs, staring me straight in the eyes, not breaking eye contact.

The entire room pounds with vibrations as the werewolf lets out a monstrous roar. Peripherally, I see its eyes glowing the red of an evil, demonic creature, and locking onto me, but I can’t take my eyes of Envy. Why would he choose to let me die...?

The principal yells with euphoria, “He made his choice, so it’s time for her to die!”

Within milliseconds the wolf jumps up and charges at me. I look away from Envy to look at my oncoming enemy. This is it… I’m going to die… I really thought he would pull through and save me. Stupid me to think that…

          “Wait!” Someone yells.

The werewolf stops literally half a millimeter away from me. Those demonic eyes directly in front of mine. Its mouth hanging open revealing sharp, dagger teeth. I feel the disgusting reek of its breath on my cheeks, and some of its dirty fur brushes my chin.

“Wait!” the person yells again and I can tell the voice was coming from Envy. “Are you crazy?! You can’t let the werewolf kill her!”

Envy pauses. Thank goodness. He finally came to his senses and was going to save me. I just knew he wouldn’t be able to let me die.

“Wh-“ the principal starts to say.

Envy cuts him off, “You can’ let the werewolf kill her. You have to let me kill her.”

WHAT?! He had to be joking.

All the teachers roar with applause. They were definitely supporting Envy’s decision.

The principal speaks up, “Okay, we will let you kill her. Sparqy, get back here.” The werewolf return to sit next the principal who then snaps his fingers. After his fingers are snapped Envy is no longer tied up and he is holding a gun. “Just remember, if you try anything funny with that gun, you won’t like the consequences. Use it to kill her.”

My mouth is bound so I can’t call out to him to try to change his mind. I’m tied up so I can’t do anything. My thought processes are literally going a million miles an hour.

The next thing I know, Envy walks over to me, points the gun exactly at my heart and pulls the trigger.
