When a guy says he needs a brake does it mean he's breaking up with you?

Well it could mean a lot of things. It could mean that maybe the guy is having second thoughts about if he likes you or not. This little break could determine if he misses you or something. Another reason could be is that he is dealing with problems at home or at school, so he wants to have some alone time. But in the other hand it could be a nice way of breaking up with you... There are many reasons, but I can't help with which one is the right reason.
