The oldest religions in the world were matriarchal. Goddess carvings and statues that are older than recorded civilization have been unearthed and documented. The earliest spiritual impulse was toward the feminine as the Source of Being, as the matrix from which emerged the unborn gods and their children. Maiden, Mother and Crone, the first and most sacred divine trinity spoke to our ancestors in the cycle of the seasons, in birth, life and death. But the rise of the demiurge, the deepening of delusion as humankind wandered away from this original Pleromal Source, led to its entrapment in self-will and imbalance. Completion. Redress. This is the recurring message. In rediscovering Sophia in the Magdalene, the one-sided version of our story that has been told for centuries has been corrected. The balance is being redressed as more hearts are made privy to the counsels of the divine feminine they embody, nurturing the creative, compassionate and insightful aspects of our psyches that have long been derided and condemned and overridden for the sake of the pursuit of power and dominion. The Magdalene will be heard again.
