'Amēn, I say unto you: For the sake of the race of men, because it is material, I have torn myself asunder and brought unto them all the mysteries of the Light, that I may purify them..." (Jesus in the Gospel of Mary).
The very word 'salvation' has accrued unto itself the idea of being saved from the judgement of a capricious and angry Father God. It is a distortion of catastrophic proportions for it has heaped upon the human psyche a whole mountain of guilt and self-loathing, and a sense of unworthiness. This is not the salvation to which Magdalene leads us. Our liberation is to be freed from the psychological bind in which we have imprisoned our True Self. It was to help us to see this True Nature that Jesus allowed his physical body to be broken and crushed. By rending the veil of matter, he revealed to us that union of Wisdom and Light that is the core of every being.
