Magdalene's presence reminds us of how absent she has been from our lives. We have missed her company yet never knew it, for we were led to believe we had no need of it. Our story until now has been distorted, lopsided, only half-known. But now that we have encountered her, we realise in her a completion of the narrative. And it is a story that is just beginning.
